The Sex and the City prequel, Carrie Diaries, has been causing a stir in the entertainment world lately.  People want to know if it will hold up to the iconic series that made Carrie Bradshaw synonymous with NYC and fashion.  Carrie Diaries follows a young Carrie Bradshaw in 1980's New York City before Mr. Big, Manolos, her sex column and fabulous brunches with Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.

AnnaSophia Robb landed the roll of the young Carrie Bradshaw and I spotted her filming a scene for the new CW show in NYC's Financial Distict (FiDi) this past weekend.

Check out the exclusive pics of AnnaSophia Robb with her "Carrie" bag with a fierce lady of the 80's in front of the Century 21.
Above: AnnaSophia Robb walks on set to film a scene with what appears to be co-star Freema Agyeman who plays "Larissa" in front of the Century 21 in NYC's Financial District.

It was so cool to see AnnaSophia Robb doing her thing as a young Carrie Bradshaw.  Rob said in a recent interview with Us Weekly that Sarah Jessica Parker has sent her blessing via a letter to the young actress.

"She sent me a letter! I wrote her one back, too," Robb, 18, told Us Weekly at the launch of Salvatore Ferragamo's Signorina fragrance in NYC last week . "She was just very encouraging about it all. It was really cool!"

Robb also told Us Weekly that she has been watching SATC to try to "click with the character." From what I saw she seemed to be doing a pretty good job. In the scene Carrie meets Larissa in front of the Century 21. They speak briefly and Larissa gives her a card and walks away. Carrie then turns around and hops away exactly like SJP's Bradshaw. I was impressed that Rob seemed to have Carrie's mannerisms down.

The show is set to debut on the CW this fall. We shall see it it can hold up to SATC. Let OJ&B know what you think about the prequel by leaving a comment below!
