2011 has been a year of change for so many people! Recently, my friend Helen Cooper, her boyfriend Grant and their two fur kids (dogs) Charlie and Homer moved from Hell Kitchen to Harlem NYC. The change was amazing as their apartment in Harlem is HUGE and so pretty!
A brand new huge apt is a blank canvas and that means decor, decor decor! In order to share this experience (and maybe even help others along the way) Helen decided to create a blog called Harlem Home. Harlem Home is filled with tips and updates about decorating and is super cute with great ideas. Helen even does Harlem Restaurant reviews (click here to see the one about Toast a.k.a one of my fave places)!
Recently, Helen asked me and some of her other friends to name a few of our favorite designers and talk about why we like them. I chose Tom Ford, Thom Browne and Alexander McQueen.
I cannot get over how amazing the blog post that she created looks! She put so much thought into the collages and I am thrilled she agreed to let me post it on OJ&B!
Helen is also going to be the VERY FIRST OJ&B contributor ever! She has agreed to be the official OJ&B Real Housewives of New York Corespondent and she will be providing us with weekly recaps of the show!
Helen might know more about celebs than I do and she has a sassy yet sharp sense of humor so I know the recaps will be in good hands! If you need further proof, she is the same gal that helped me write and film the Hills recap videos that currently have a total of 33,871 Youtube views(click here to see them)!
Enjoy Helen's fashion post from Harlem Home below and look out for her recaps of The Real Housewives of New York soon! I'm so excited for the series premiere this Thursday on Bravo!
The following post was done by Helen Cooper via her blog Harlem Home:
I've been working on this project for a while now, and I'm so happy that I can finally share it with you! After looking at the Elie Saab Spring 2011 collection, and absolutely loving every single thing in it, I realized that I've never disliked anything that he's ever done. That got me thinking about who my other favorite designers are. And that got me thinking about who my friends' favorite designers are. So I asked a few of those I consider fashion-fabulous and got some great responses.
Here are the results, a pretty presentation from a perfect peanut gallery--my friends! Be sure to click on each person's page to view details, and let me know if this is the kind of thing you like reading. I really enjoyed doing it and could probably be persuaded to do something like it in the future!
*I am aware that Thom Browne is the correct spelling. Misplaced "e"s are not my friends.
