Everyone remembers the wild anticipation about the fashion docufilm The September Issue which followed Anna Wintour and her team at Vogue as they put together the year's biggest fashion issue. The fashion world went crazy for the film as well as the people who look at the fashion world from the outside. If Anna was not a household name before, she certainly is now, but she is not the only editor in fashion that people clamour for.
Carine Riotfeld is a woman who is a powerful force in fashion and is huge in Europe but many people in the United States might not know who she is. This is all about to change when her highly anticipated documentary Mademoiselle C makes its debut September 11th in New York, L.A. Chicago, Miami and Dallas.
For 10 years Carine Riotfeld ran French Vogue and built her reputation as one of fashion's most influential movers. Her inner circle of friends includes Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld, Mario Testino, Riccardo Tisci, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Alexander Wang.
Mademoiselle C chronicles Carine’s launch of her new magazine “CR Fashion Book.” It gives a rare inside glimpse at the inner workings not only of Roitfeld’s professional world but also her personal life. It is a film about transition, letting the audience watch as Carine moves to New York, starts a new business, and prepares to become a grandmother.
Check out the trailer for Mademoiselle C:
I love how Carine calls her self a rebel and states that she does not take photos but rather tells stories. My other favorite part of the trailer is how Carine is talking about being a grandmother with her friend Donatella Versace, you know, like you do. I know when I am dealing with stuff in my life I always run to my close and personal BFF's Donatella, Karl and DVF.
I am so excited to get a glimpse into another side of the fashion world. I have seen so much of American fashion but I have always had a soft spot for the avant-garde ways of the Europeans.
One thing is for sure, if Carine is involved, it is going to be a chic and exciting ride!
