3, 2, 1... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

That's right, time is ticking to 2012 and let's be honest, many of you may not have your New Year's Eve outfit picked out yet! Never fear, I am here with Collection B to help you figure out looks you can do for the biggest night of the year!

There is nothing like a little black dress to take you into the new year! A dress like the one above from H&M can be worn with all kinds of fun accessories and blazers and jackets of all kinds! Always think of LBD's as a fierce blank canvas!

Change things up with a little WHITE dress like this one from David Meister!  Nothing looks sexier, crisp and clean then an all white dress with gold accessories to ring in a brand new year!  Just be sure to stick to clear beverages and steer clear of your clumsy friends!

Not a black and white fan? Bring in 2012 with a burst of color like these two David Meister frocks!  The emerald green dress above is so chic and tells everyone you are ready for a fun filled year!  Feel glamorous by doing a colored sequined dress like the purple one below.  Sequins are always a perfect thing for NYE, they are fun and they shine in the light, just like you will in the new year!

If your New Year's resolution is to be more daring then start the year off with a black dress that has studs on it like this Versace for H&M creation!  If you never do a look like this then this dress will be sure to let everyone know that you are about to do some major yet chic changes in 2012!  The Rolando Santana dress below has a dramatic neckline that is sure to turn plenty of heads in the room. It is perfect for a more formal NYE party and it allows you to not look stuffy!

Now that you have some options for NYE, it is essential that you remember that NYE is usually a cold night!  It is not cute to be out and about shivering and catching a cold!  No one wants to ring in a new year with sickness and misery so be sure to turn to Collection B's Facebook Store where you can buy jackets that will keep you warm in 2012!

This Collection B Asria jacket is perfect for looking chic in 2012!  It is great to have a jacket that is cute so you can walk around and still have a cute outfit on!  The same thing goes for the jacket below which is the Yvette jacket from Collection B.  Who says that you cannot be warm and elegant?

OJ&B In The Press: From Bay City to the Big City

I was very surprised and honored to wake up and see that The Matagorda Advocate article about me being an Us Weekly Fashion Police Top Cop was on the front page!  Special thanks to The Matagorda Advocate Editor, Adriana Acosta for the photo and story that you can read below.

From Bay City to the Big City
By Adriana Acosta

When Jonathan Valdez was asked if he would be interested in becoming a contributor for Us Weekly, he jumped at the chance.

“This is something that I have wanted to do for the longest time and it is finally happening,” he said.

Known for his bow tie and fedora, his personal style and stylish posts, Valdez has one more job title to add to his name – fashion police top cop for Us Weekly.

Valdez will be part of a fashion police panel, were he will be commenting on what celebrities are wearing.

“This is all about the outfit and not the celebrity,” he said.

The Bay City native, now living in New York City is well known for blogging about celebrities and fashion.

Orange Juice and Biscuits began as a radio show, which focused on fashion, pop culture and celebrity news when he attended Texas State University.

His morning talk show allowed him to interview celebrities in several South By South West Music and Film festivals.

Now as a top cop for Us Weekly, he will extend his fashion experience to a larger audience.

Valdez said he likes that Us Weekly likes to keep it positive by only commenting on what the celebrity is wearing and not concentrating on their physical appearance.

“They will be light hearted comments about the celebrities poor fashion choices,” he said jokingly.

Aside from his blog, Valdez has been keeping busy by walking the red carpet as a fashion commentator at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Valdez credits social media for building a lot of his working relationships.

“Social media has gotten me where I am today,” he said. “This is how I was able to be a part of Us Weekly.

Valdez said Sasha Charnin, fashion director editor for Us Weekly follows him on Twitter and read his fashion blog.

Valdez is a 2003 graduate of Bay City High School and was a member of the Dungeoneers, the speech and debate team.

As a Dungeoneer, Valdez competed in UIL Theater, improvisation and One Act plays, drama and solo singing.

After graduating from high school, Valdez attended Texas State University where he majored in communications studies and minored in Theater and Psychology.

His morning talk show was a popular morning show that allowed him to interview celebrities in several South By South West Music and Film festivals.

Valdez dreamed of performing live theater in New York City and in 2009 he followed his dream.

This is the perfect place to be if you want to do theater or fashion, he said.

“This is where everything happens first,” he said.

Aside from being a fashion and celebrity blogger, Valdez does freelance public relations.

Valdez said he is looking forward to 2012 with big projects coming soon. He will also continue blogging celebrity and fashion news, be a red carpet commentator at fashion week and part of the fashion police for Us Weekly.

He hopes to also do a lot more television and radio as a guest commentator.

“For now, I am just so excited to be a part of a national magazine that allows me to do what I love,” he said.

The New Mag In Town: Reality Weekly Hits Stands Today!

Are you tired of seeing Teen Mom's on the cover of magazines? Growing weary of Kovers and Kovers of Kardashians? Well now there is a proper place for all of these reality darlings to be dissected and discussed.

The people who brought you Star and OK! Magazine, American Media, Inc. (AMI), have officially launched their newest endeavor, Reality Weekly.  Reality Weekly, which hit stands today, will give you insider information and provide some humor as reality shows should not be taken seriously at all!  As you can see from the premier cover (above) Reality Weekly will talk about everything from American Idol to Teen Mom to Kendra, Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Housewives and Pawn Stars!

I love that the cover looks like the old school tabloids.  The paper is even printed on the same type of paper that the Enquirer is printed on so you get that extra old school tabloid feel.

I think it is smart and relevant for AMI to create this magazine as reality shows are it's own separate genre. Soap operas have their soap opera weeklies and now reality shows have Reality Weekly!

Hopefully the other mags will stop covering the reality show people as much now that there is a legit print outlet for them.  Be sure to tell OJ&B if you will or won't read the magazine below!  Also include why you made the decision!

Sponsored Content: Collection B Offers Haute Jackets At A Hauter Price!

There is nothing hotter than looking fierce and being smart!  The key to this winning combination is learning how to look like a million dollars while spending less than one hundred!

That's right!  All of the jackets that I am about to show you via Collection B are less than one hundred dollars!  It is so awesome when you can be on trend AND on budget!  Let's start shopping shall we?

My favorite jacket from Collection B is their Hanna Quilted Cotton Twill Jacket with Faux Leather Sleeves!  This jacket can take you so many places from uptown to downtown and has a look that will make people say, "I want her jacket!"

I love Collection B's Asria Sleek Softshell Hooded Jacket.  What is chicer than New York Black? The slanted zipper detailing adds edge and fun to change things up a bit! It is also fun to play with the amount of zipper you want zipped up.  Just a little higher or lower can change a look completely!

Who does not love a good bomber jacket?  Collection B's Ayra Sherpa-Lined Faux Leather Aviator Bomber is the perfect thing to be on trend with women rocking men inspired looks.  The faux leather and bomber design give it a masculine edge while the fit keeps it fun and fem!

I love the lines that Collection B's Leila Sueded Belted Jacket with Detachable Sherpa Collar provides.  I am all about a good belted situation.  Also, the fact that the Sherpa collar is detachable means two looks for the price of one! WORK!

My second favorite jacket from Collection B is their Yvette Faux Shearling Jacket with Sherpa Details .  I am all about the elegant neck and body of this jacket.  It is great to see a jacket that can be warm and can still give girls a touch of elegance.

I am glad I could share with you Collection B and their amazing jackets that are right on trend and right on budget1

Be sure to check out Collection B's site to see the other pieces they have to offer by going directly to their site www.collectionb.us/!

OJ&B EXCLUSIVE: SNL's Jason Sudeikis Shows Off New Rumored Girlfriend Olivia Wilde At Cast After Party!

Above: Olivia Wilde at the Ralph Lauren Spring 2012 Show

Rumor has it that Olivia Wilde loves her a funny man and vision has it that these rumors are true!

This past Saturday, Pranna Restaurant and Lounge hosted the Saturday Night Live (SNL to fans) Holiday After-Party with guests including Lorne Michaels, Seth Meyers, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, John Krazinski, Emily Blunt, Jimmy Fallon, Jude Law, Craig Robinson, Keenan Thompson, Bobby Moynihan and Bobby Jindal.

Sources tell OJ&B that Jason Sudeikis was certainly happy to show off his new girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, to all his cast mates and crew as the two cozied up for a dinner.  Everyone was in a celebratory mood with host Jimmy Fallon finishing a funny performance and reuniting with old cast members, Tiny Fey, Chris Kattan, Tracey Morgan, Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler.

It is one thing to be seen in the tabloids with your rumored Boo but it is quite another to actually take them to your work parties (yes the SNL after party seems glam but it is STILL Jason's work party).  If you really don't want to be involved with someone then the last thing you do is take them to your work functions.  What if they make friends with your work friends and you break up?  Then you are minding your own business at work and BAM!  Your ex-Boo comes in to wait for a work pal who they are joining for lunch and it is super awkward turtle time! That is something you have to have to be prepared for!

If they are a couple then good for them! Hopefully they talked to John Krazinski and Emily Blunt about how to make an actual Hollywood relationship work! BUT, Dear Olivia, a hot girl source tells OJ&B that Jason is notorious for hitting on coat check girls and then Facebook friending them instead of texting or calling... YIKES!

P.S. I would have loved to have been there with my fave SNL cast members Tina, Fey, Chris Kattan, Amy Poehler and Ratchel Dratch!  They were all comedy geniuses!

If you are like me, then hearing the word, "Okrrr," can bring out your inner sassiness faster than watching an episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta!  The word "Okrrr" happens to come from the hit YouTube skit featuring the multi-talented actress/singer/Broadway Legend, Laura Bell Bundy as Cooter County's favorite hair stylist, Shocantelle Brown!

Above: Hilarious exclusive photos only on OJ&B via photographer Andrew Werner who took the official photos of LBB slash Shocantelle Brown for OJ&B!

J. Estina Grand Opening and Collection Launch at the Shops at The Plaza

Recently J.Estina announced the grand opening of their first boutique in the United States, located at The Shops in The Plaza.  OJ&B was invited to stop by the grand opening festivities that brought the likes of Fern Mallis (pictured above with Mr. Kim, President of J.Estina) and Patricia Field!

J.Estina's in-store celebration was hosted by stylist Mary Alice Stephenson while Downtown it-girl, May Kwok DJ'd the event.  It was great to see Fern as she always brings great energy to any event.  She is so nice and approachable!  I also loved seeing me some Patricia Field!  She has a style that is truly all her own.  I don't think anyone else could have come to The Plaza in a fur with lime green shoes and a smiley face bandanna and look like a fashion rock star.  Pat is such a legend and her eccentric style matches her perfectly.  She is one of the nicest people that I have met in fashion while in NYC.

Above: J. Estina's host for the night stylist, Mary Alice Stephenson standing in J.Estina's brand new store at The Shops at The Plaza. Below: OJ&B fave, Patricia Field stops by to show love to the new J. Estina store.

Other people who showed up to support J.Estina included Simon Collins, Dean of Fashion Parsons The New School for Design, Survivor winner Ethan Zohn, MTV host Lenay Dunn and models Julie Henderson and Allie Rizzo. The event also brought out many of New York’s social elite including Annie Churchill Albert, Anna Sheffield  and friend of OJ&B, Richie Rich

Above: Jonathan Valdez of OJ&B chats with designer/NYC nightlife icon/friend of OJ&B, Richie Rich at the J.Estina Grand Opening at The Plaza.  Below: Richie Rich and I were obsessed with the sequined backpack that had double sided black and gold sequins!

The Store houses a large collection of its signature fashion jewelry and the E.S.Donna Collection, which is an intimate fine jewelry capsule. J.Estina has joined forces with The Plaza to present a limited edition, “The Plaza Exclusive Line.”

J.Estina represents royalty, elegance and good taste that never is out of style. Its name derived from the famous Italian Princess and then Bulgarian Queen, Jovanna Estina. The symbolic emblem of the Tiara is inspired by Jovanna’s elegance and luxurious lifestyle which is represented in the jewelry.

Congratulation to J.Estina on opening up their first U. S. boutique at The Shops at The Plaza!

Wide World Of Weave: Demi Lovato Pulls Out Some Hair Live In Concert!

Demi Lavato has one of the best public relations teams in the history of celebs! I mean just last November she checked into a treatment center for "emotional and physical issues," A.K.A she apparently punched a female member of her tour and was a grade a Hollywood Hot Mess!  By the time the middle of this year happened she was performing at major events and awards shows and laughing it up on red carpets with her alleged BFF Selena Gomez like nothing ever happened.

Recently Demi was doing a show in Kansas City, MO and as she was sassin' it up on stage she pulled out one of her hair extensions (see the video below). No PR firm in the world can help you if you are live on stage and your weave is just dropping like flies!

After the piece of hair was pulled out Demi notices it and then starts acting embarrassed and awkwardly tried to hide her hand and shake it off. OH HELL TO THE NAW! Listen, if I was trying to be a pop sensation you BETTA BAWEAVE that I would have an emergency weave falling out plan! My backup dancers would be prepped and trained that if I was dancing and I pulled out part of my weave, they better get to pulling a piece out of my head too and we are going to do the rest of the routine like we are Olympic ribbon dancers! We would be swinging hair around for our LIVES!!

The bottom line here is that the show must go on in all aspects of life! When life gives you lemons make lemonade, when life makes your weave fall out on stage, make it a part of the show and whip it back and forth like Willow Smith laying ground work for her future career! Always be prepared!

Check out the video below and be sure to leave a comment on what you would do in this "hairy" situation! Demi, you better keep it together gurl! Good luck out their and make sure that weave is sewed/glued/braided/stapled/nail gunned in their real good!

Marni makes moves for H&M Spring 2012!

By Jessica Downer OJ&B Intern

Versace, move over and make room for Marni!

Founder and creative director, Consuelo Castiglion has created a spring line for H&M. H&M's versatile styles will combine with Marni’s vibrant, fun prints and will debut on March 8th, 2012. “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements,” says Castiglion.

We all know that H&M is the go to place for a cute outfit for under 50 bucks (besides Forever 21, but I digress).  But, H&M is definitely stepping their game up with these high-fashion collabs. Notable collaborations for H&M include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace. Though Marni isn’t the most recognized high fashion name, I know that anything or anyone working in tandem with H&M will be fab.

The line will be available for both men and women. Women will rock vivid patterns varying from African inspired prints to simpler color blocks while men will wear relaxed designs. If accessories are your thing, get pumped because complimenting jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves will be developed for the line. “Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It’s fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of prints and colors, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece,” says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor for H&M.

Above: A little taste from the Men's Collection from the H&M and Marni Collab.

The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time as the collection will truly prove to be a lovely statement for spring. We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will feel the same way.” I know I’m excited to see what’s in store for this H&M and Marni duo.
