Versace, move over and make room for Marni!

Founder and creative director, Consuelo Castiglion has created a spring line for H&M. H&M's versatile styles will combine with Marni’s vibrant, fun prints and will debut on March 8th, 2012. “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colors, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic and adding sporty utilitarian elements,” says Castiglion.

We all know that H&M is the go to place for a cute outfit for under 50 bucks (besides Forever 21, but I digress).  But, H&M is definitely stepping their game up with these high-fashion collabs. Notable collaborations for H&M include Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, Jimmy Choo, Lanvin, and most recently Versace. Though Marni isn’t the most recognized high fashion name, I know that anything or anyone working in tandem with H&M will be fab.

The line will be available for both men and women. Women will rock vivid patterns varying from African inspired prints to simpler color blocks while men will wear relaxed designs. If accessories are your thing, get pumped because complimenting jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves will be developed for the line. “Marni has such a modern touch with everything they do, mixing prints and accessories in a playful but chic way. It’s fantastic to see how Consuelo Castiglioni coordinates her designs, matching new combinations of prints and colors, with such incredible craftsmanship behind every piece,” says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor for H&M.

The collection will arrive in stores at just the perfect time as the collection will truly prove to be a lovely statement for spring. We all love the collection here at H&M and we believe that our customers will feel the same way.” I know I’m excited to see what’s in store for this H&M and Marni duo.
