J.Lo J.Hosts SNL!

Jennifer Lopez and Tokyo hotel perform during the 60th festival of italian song in San Remo

Jennifer Lopez was the host AND musical performer for the last February SNL in 2010. J.LO is not stranger to the block or hosting as she had done so back in 2001. In her opening monologue she talks about the differences between things then and now like how she had to give up certain things like her entourage. I would hate having to give up the guy who held my orange juice as well!

Before the show got started, SNL opened up with a skit about how bad the remake of 'We Are The World' was. The skit featured J.Lo portraying Rhianna doing her trademark "AY YEAH's." Other people that were made light of were Gwen Stefani, Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, Willie Nelson and so much!

There was of course a Digital Short. This one was about flags of the world. The flags started out normal enough but in true Digital Short form the flags went from real to We Love Betty White flags, Hottie and The Nottie Flags, J.Lo wearing day glow with and a halo made of Play-Doh flag, and of course my fave flag, the no you didn't Flag!

The night seemed to be going pretty well for Jenny from the block until she started to SING! Que Lastima! Maybe being the host AND musical performer was too much for J.Lo. It my have also been because she was singing ballads and not fun dancey pop hits like 'Waiting For Tonight'. Whatever it was the poor girl sounded horrid! The notes were just not getting hit. It's O.K. Jenny, I still think you are an awesome comedic actress! Back to the show!

I was so happy that they did another Besos Y Lagrimas sketch. My favorite one is with Christina Aguilera but this one made me happy too! If and when I host SNL I will HAVE to be in a Besos Y Lagrimas skit. I mean, who doesn't want to be in a Spanish telenovela? I crack up everytime they show them in those amazing dresses with the wind blowing on them in between the scenes.

Another skit that I was extremely happy that they did again was Tina Tina! When we first met Tina Tina she was selling hilarious custom door bells, and now she has moved on to car horns. My favorite car horn is the one for people in relationships. "HOW CAN YOU SLEEP WITH DENISE?! OMGAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" I like how J.Lo was in her old denim jumper from back in the day.

Overall I would have to say that I enjoyed Jennifer Lopez's return to hosting. I will always be fond of her first time around where she battled Chris Kattan's character "Mango." Get it Jenny! But next time do your dancey pop stuff if you are going to sing!

My Print Interview/Photo Shoot With Kalyn Hemphill!

Earlier this month I posted a behind the scenes video of the photo shoot for Encore Magazine's February cover with Models of the Runway Winner Kalyn Hemphill. I am very excited to share the finished product with all of you! I was thrilled that I got to do the interview to accompany the spread and that it was the February COVER STORY! I was also very excited/happy/proud that I actually got to style to shoot!

The shoot was such a phenomenal experience and I learned a ton! The best part about the entire thing is that I got to reconnect with Kalyn and now we are good friends. I am so proud of her! She works hard and is one of the sweetest girls that I know. During the interview I got to speak with Kalyn about her love for the performing arts and her passion for acting.

Check out the spread and the interview below! Clicking on the images should make them larger so the interview can be read! Be sure to leave comments to let me know what you think!

Walter Fall 2010

Designer Walter Baker debuted his Fall 2010 collection on February 16th at Stage 37.

The day was extra snowy but that did not stop the likes of Adrienne Bailon, former "The City" star slash actress Erin Lucas and current star Samantha Swetra from coming out. Also in attendance was New York Housewife, Alex Mcord, who looked amazing! Alex was really sweet. She was taking photos with fans and I told her that she looked great. She smiled and graciously said thank you!

Above: Adrienne Bailon, Samantha Swetra, and Erin Lucas at the Walter Fall 2010 show.

The Walter Fall 2010 show had great ready to wear pieces for women, but my favorite thing has to be the boots that designer Walter Baker wore.

As I have said before, I am LOVING this trend where guys are tucking in their pants to show off the boots. I rocked that look a couple of times during fashion week, including to the Walter Fall 2010 show!

I really need to get a pair of awesome brown boots now! Any shoe people need me to test out a pair?

Congratulations Walter on your Fall 2010 line! Now tell me where you got the boots!

For Love & Lemons Fall 2010

For Love & Lemons is a brand new line that started in March 2009 by Gillian Mahin and Laura Hall. Their Fall 2010 collection debuted on February 16th, and I had the chance to see it up close and personal in the front row!

Above: It's always fun to see your name on things.

For Love & Lemons' Fall 2010 collection showed unique leggings and dresses that had a bit of edge to them.

There were some softer pieces in the collection as well like this top with oversized buttons.

While at the show I spotted a very familiar face! Gordana Gehlhausen from season 6 of Project Runway!

I am interested to see how these budding fashion designers progress in their designs. It is great that they are doing their own thing and following their dreams! Best of luck For Love & Lemons!

Donna Karan Fall 2010: A Place Where Dreams Come True!

Donna Karan debuted her stunning Fall 2010 collection on February 15, 2010 to a packed house filled with the fashion elite! I was thrilled to be in the audience to see the stunning gowns and of course to see some major celebrity action! I really hope you are ready because I am going to give you a blow by blow of how the whole thing went down as well as discuss the beautiful clothes. AND GO!

I walked into the Donna Karan Fall 2010 Show just like I do for all of the shows that I cover. Donna's shows are great because they are at her studio and it just feels more personal. I say hello to a couple of people and then I settle my way into my spot. As I am getting my life together and gathering what I need to cover the show the photographers start going cray cray. I turn to my right to see what was going on and this is what I see:

Above: Brooke Shields getting tons of media love at the Donna Karan Fall 2010 Show.

Why it's the lovely and talented Brooke Shields being interviewed and photoged like crazy. I didn't even really have time to soak in the fact that Brooke was there because as I look to the front of me Susan Sarandon is arriving. All I could really think at that point was "Damn it, Janet, I Love you!" The cameras start going crazy again to my right because Demi Moore is sitting right next to Brooke! I have never seen such a media frenzy. Since I was standing on the same side as these ladies, I got all of the camera flashes in my eyes as well. It was intense but you know I stood there and pretended it was all for me! When in Rome!

While Demi and Brooke start talking To Extra TV, in walks stylist, Rachel Zoe, BUH-Nanas! I had heard that she was coming via DKNY PR Girl's tweets and that RZ would be filming The Rachel Zoe Project during the show. Sure enough Rachel had her cameras, along with Brad and Rodger.

Above: Rachel Zoe arrives at the Donna Karan Fall 2010 Show.

At this point I was in heaven and the show had not even started yet. It was almost showtime and the crowd began to part. I then see Grace Coddington, stylist and creative director for American Vogue. I was in awe to be in the same presence as Grace Coddington. She is truly a fashion genius! Then I saw her... ANNA WINTOUR! I am not going to lie, I let out a huge gasp! The girl in front of me turned around and looked at me like I was crazy and I replied "Sorry I just had a moment." Anna totally looked at me for like 5 seconds and it was awesome. Being around the legends of fashion was so inspiring. It was finally showtime and I watched as Anna Wintour put on her iconic sunglasses just as the lights went up!

Above: Grace Coddington and Anna Wintour as the Donna Karan Fall 2010 show begins. Rachel Zoe is two people from Anna. Check out those boots!

The Donna Karan Fall 2010 collection was amazing. The gowns were great and I totally saw Rachel Zoe taking pictures and eyeing the gowns up and down front to back. She really does work hard and you could tell she was thinking about what client would look good in what dress. Grace Coddington was also taking notes like crazy. It was awesome to see these people at work.

Above: If you were a stylist what celeb would you put in this Donna Karan gown?

I loved the punch of color in the collection as well. You all know that I am a sucker for color, color, color!

Above: Beautiful!

After the show was done Anna Wintour bolted up and shot out of the door. She is AW and she can do that! I stayed around to see who I could meet.

I had the chance to meet Rachel Zoe and she was "beyond" as she would say. Her cameras were rolling and she took time out from greeting Donna Karan and Joe Zee, creative director at Elle magazine, to take a quick photo with me!

Above: Rachel Zoe TOTALLY giving me classic Zoe! Love her so much! She is beyond!

I also had the chance to say hello to Brad who I met this past September at Vouge's Fashion's Night Out. Maybe I will be on the upcoming RZP season slash Bravo you really need to give me a show!

Above: Jonathan Valdez and Brad Goreski of the Rachel Zoe Project. I Should have asked their camera man to take the pic.

Congrats to everyone at Donna Karan for three amazing events during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010! It was an honor to cover them and I am so happy that some of my dreams came true with DK!

Leanne Marshall Fall 2010

I had the honor of covering Leanne Marshall's Fall 2010 collection during fashion week for Chic Galleria.com. Leanne Marshall's collection showcased her attention to detail and her love for beauty. Rather than having the models walk down the runway to loud and abrasive music, Marshall used soft, elegant music that put the audience at ease and matched well with her elegant collection.

Leanne Marshall truly knows what it takes to stand out in the fashion crowd. I love how she utilized color and texture for Fall '10! I am so over seeing black and brown all over the city. When someone wears color in the city during fall/winter they really really pop!

I also really loved her skirts with beautiful detail all around! Any woman who wore this to an event slash party would for sure make a great entrance and statement.

Guests included the likes of Teen Vogue, Running With Heels and models like Summer Rayne Oaks. There were also plenty of past and present Project Runway contestants showing Leanne support.

For the complete review and to see the stunning finale dress check out my article on ChicGalleria.com!

DKNY Fall 2010 Collection

My Valentine for this year was the DKNY Fall 2010 Collection! DKNY's Fall 2010 showed a mix of bauhuas grids, deco florals, equestrian plaids, and schoolgirl kilts. The color palate ranged from neutrals of black, charcoal, umber, vicuna, and oxford brightened with accents of bluebird, sapphire, peach, and oyster.

I really enjoyed the DKNY Fall 2010 Collection. It seemed to wave hello to the 90's with man-tailored jackets and coats and the Clueless chic skirts. I could totally see Cher and Dion rocking some of these looks! The clothes of course had a modern twist and were very contemporary. I loved the sequins that were sprinkled throughout the collection.

One of my favorite pieces in the collection was this Burgundy coat! It looked so fantastic on the runway!

The house was packed and the there was a sea of press eager to capture every moment! I am always amazed at how intense a wall of photographers look. It really makes you respect the models and the celebs that are very familiar with the following image.

Speaking of celebs, there were plenty on hand at the show! The star of the popular television show True Jackson V.P. on Nickelodeon, Keke Palmer was there. Alison Brie, best known as Trudy Campbell from A&E's Mad Men, was also in attendance along with electropop singer-song writer Little Boots and British socialite slash model Poppy Delevigne.

As per usual, Donna Karan did an amazing job with the DKNY line for Fall 10! Congratulations Donna Karan!

After the show guest were greeted by a delicious cup of hot chocolate courtesy of DKNY! It was the perfect thing to combat the chilly NYC air!

It's the little things that show how much Donna Karan cares about other people. It is also the big things as well! Next door at the Urban Zen store, Donna Karan was selling shirts that benefited Haiti Relief. As you saw above, Donna Karan was wearing one of the shirts for Haiti Hope Help & Relief. Tents are being sent to Haiti along with supplies to help relieve the people of Haiti! To learn more click here.

Video: OJ&B Getting some attention at Fashion Week and Makes Stylist.com!

Hey Orange Juice and Biscuiters! I am having an amazing time running around NYC and the tents for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! In order to bring you all of the latest in NYC I of course have to attend events. While I am there I am taking it all in so I can report back to all of you. Usually I am the one interviewing and taking pictures of other people, but during fashion week I have been getting photographed every now and then which is crazy! Today a lady shoved a camera in my face and totally caught me by surprise. I leaned back with a freaked out look and all she said was "Thanks!" I honestly don't mind if people like what I am wearing (hopefully I am not ending up on any hot mess of the day blogs) but it would be cool if they would ask me first and tell me if it were going up on a site so I can share it on OJ&B! Like Sammy Davis, owner of Sammy Davis Vintage. While we were at the Fashion 2.0 Awards she asked if I would like to be apart of her Sammy D Style segment of Sammy D. T.V. . I of course said yes! Here is what happened:

Sammy D Style // Fashion 2.0 Awards // Feb. 10, 2010 from Sammy Davis on Vimeo.

Sammy also gave me a shout out on episode two of Sammy D T.V.! Check it out!

Episode 2 // Sammy D TV // Feb. 10th, 2010 from Sammy Davis on Vimeo.

This past Friday I had the chance to hit up the iconic Bryant Park tents. I am so glad that I finally got to go inside before they leave Bryant Park! I feel like I am a part of Fashion History!

When you walk into the tents, you are instantly taken into another world! Everyone(for the most part) has amazing style and you see the most fabulous of things, like this woman's fierce Gagaesque hat!

Above: Fierce Gold Hat lady in the Fashion Week tents! GET IT!

You also get to do cool stuff like making a 30 second video for AOL's Stylist.com. I was thrilled when I found out that they chose my video as one of the ones to post on the website giving OJ&B and big shout out! Check out the official post on stylist.com and watch the video here:

I'm so geeked to be bringing OJ&B to the fashion week crowd! Hello to any and all new readers and much love to everyone who has supported since day one!

Keep coming back often for more updates and reports on Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week!

Let's Hear It For The Boys: DKNY Men's Fall 2010 Presentation!

It was all about Rugged Modern at the DKNY Men's Fall 2010 Presentation held February 9th at Ace Hotel's Breslin Bar and Dining Room. The Ace hotel provided the perfect backdrop for the DKNY Men's Fall 2010 line as both the hotel and the clothes were rugged yet elegant at the same time.

Above: DKNY Men's model in a dark grey polyester hooded poncho.

These clothes are not just for the concrete jungle (where dreams are made of). "Go from Times Square to Town Square or whereever the road leads you in washed leathers, not-your-dad's donegals, and chunky sweaters man enough for Hemmingway but still the kind your girlfriend will definitely want to steal," DKNY stated.

Above: DKNY Men's model in a dark grey melange wool shawl collar sweater with dark grey cotton polo and a light grey merino wool flat front trouser.

DKNY featured suits with slimmer silhouettes that also have an edgier attitude. "The classics re-imaged for the guy who doesn't try too hard."

I fell in love with the suits paired with the orange and electric blue silk ties. Give me orange and electric blue and I am good to go!

Above: DKNY Men's model in mid grey merino wool 2-button notch lapel suit with a white cotton shirt with stripe detail and an electric blue silk tie. PERFECT!

I really love grey! I think it is because it looks chic without having to wear black. I also really loved the Phaser Peak waterproof boots that were paired with the clothes. I am all about looking polished on top and finishing it off with a bit of edgy footwear. The fact that guys are now show off their footwear as well is awesome. What is the point of having amazing boots if they are being covered by pants?

Above: See how great that mid grey wool/mohair 2-button notch lapel suit looks with the orange silk tie and the boots? Also I need that mid grey cotton filled puffer jacket with detachable faux fur hood for these snowy NYC nights!

One of my favorite pieces of the night was this amazing royal blue down filled jacket. Can we talk about it? Blue and orange are my favorite colors so I really need slash want this in my closet. It is also perfect to give your outfits a fun kick of style. It only takes one great piece to make you stand out.

Above: Can you see me walking/being fierce in the NYC streets with this?
The event also showcased the Pure DKNY line. DKNY says that it was "inspired by vintage sportswear and imbued with a modern ease."

Above: Pure DKNY

I really enjoyed DKNY Men's Fall 2010 Presentation. The event had a great atmosphere with amazing food and drinks. I had something called a Buffalo Soldier, you have to get it if you are ever at the Ace! It's always awesome to make new friends while having good food and drinks while checking out fashion!

Above: Jonathan Valdez and a fabulous friend.

Orange Juice and Biscuits will have more fashion week coverage all this month so keep coming back for more!
