Sarah Michelle Gellar stars in Olay's first ever Super Bowl Campaign

On Sunday, February 3rd Olay debuted the brand's first ever Super Bowl campaign during Super Bowl LIII.

The historic ad stars 90's and 2000's scream queen slash Hollywood icon Sarah Michelle Gellar and brings Olay's "28-day challenge" to life.  It also caters to the 45% of women that make up the Super Bowl's viewing audience which are often ignored during typically thought of "male dominated" viewing events.

Only 27% of Super Bowl ads actually star women so Gellar and Olay are helping to change those numbers in a fun way and while taking the Buffy The Vampire SlayerI Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2 star back to her horror roots.

“The ad was so much fun to shoot! It’s a mix of suspense and humor, and it really shows how Olay products transform your skin." Said Gellar. I’m sure people will love it.”

Gellar filmed Scream 2 in Atlanta and said she was thrilled to be going back for the Super Bowl. The campaign star watched the commercial with the brand's "Fearless Squad" who were on the ground at Superbowl LII to speak to women about Olay during game day.

"These women are truly inspiring. They have risen above challenges and attempts to hold them back only  to prove it can be done." Gellar Stated.

The ad uses a blend of horror and comedy to showcase the efficiency of Olay's 28-day challenge showing Sarah’s character and a friend hiding from a masked villain who has broken into their home. Sarah tries to unlock her phone screen with facial recognition to quickly call for help, but her phone screen doesn’t recognize her face because she has been using Olay products for 28 days, resulting in such transformed skin that the facial recognition technology can no longer identify her.

It was great to SMG back on TV paying tribute to a part of her career that her fans Stan!
