Ballet Superstar Misty Copeland takes her opening-night bow in Broadway's On the Town

When a newborn Broadway Baby makes their debut, the Great White Way's biggest and brightest stars come out to celebrate.  This was certainly the case on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 when Gotham Magazine hosted an after party to celebrate ballet star Misty Copeland's Broadway debut in On The Town at the Lambs Club at the Chatwal Hotel in New York City.

Misty has been busy dominating the stage as she was recently promoted to Principal Dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, making her the first African-American woman to be named a principal in the company's history.  She has graced the cover of Time Magazine as one of 2015's "100 Most Influential People" and starred in the American Ballet Theatre's production of Swan Lake in their just-concluded season at the Metropolitan Oprea House.  To quote Alicia Keys, "This girl is on fire!"

Check out which celebrities and Broadway legends came out to fete Misty at Gotham Magazine's after party at the Lambs Club at the Chatwal hotel below.

Taye Diggs

The talented Taye Diggs had just finished a night of playing the lead role of Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch prior to the Gotham Magazine after party.  He literally walked off stage, changed out of his costume, walked out of the stage door and walked across the street to the Chatwal Hotel to celebrate Misty!

Joel Grey

It was truly an honor and a privilege to be in the same room as legendary actor Joel Grey.  I was thrilled when the Oscar and Tony winner walked past me and smiled.  I asked my friend Miles "Was that Joel Grey?!"  A man in front of us said enthusiastically, "YES!  That was definitely Joel Grey!"  Life was suddenly a Cabaret.

Jackie Hoffman

I was thrilled to see the incomparable and hilarious Jackie Hoffman at the Gotham Magazine after party celebrating her co-star Misty Copeland.  I saw Jackie in Hairspray in 2003 and I also had the chance to see her in On the Town last year.  She has the most amazing comedic timing and she is one of my favorites.  I have to get a photo with her next time!

The Gotham Magazine after party was filled with a slew of Misty's other On the Town co-stars including her on stage love interest Tony Yazbeck who plays Gabey in the show and Jay Armstrong Johnson who plays Gabey's sailor pal Chip.

I has an amazing time star gazing and imbibing on special cocktails courtesy of Hendrick's Gin.  I could not believe how nice Josh Groban was.  He held the bathroom door open for me as I was walking out which rarely happens in NYC let alone by a powerhouse vocalist at a party with Broadway royalty.  Take note from Josh Groban New Yorkers!  I also had the privilege of meeting one of the original co-hosts of The View, Star Jones.  It was such a fabulous night!
