In my previous post I talked about the delicious holiday cocktails served at the Mandarin Oriental's Holiday Soiree in New York City. I thought that the perfect present to my readers would be to share with all of you how to make the amazing drinks! The Mandarin Oriental, or the Mandy as I like to call it, was kind enough to give the recipes to OJ&B exclusively for all of my fab readers. So get out those shakers and 'tini glasses and start serving up some tangle and jangle with Santa's Nightcap and Madam Peppercorn!
Santa's NightCap:
2 oz. Goslings Black Seal Rum
1/2 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Monin Chocolate Chip Cookie Syrup
3/4 oz. Half and Half
Served straight up in a Martini glass with a Chocolate and sugar rim Garnished with chocolate pearls
Madam Peppercorn (OJ&B's Choice):
Muddled Pink Peppercorns (approx. 30)
1 1/2 oz. Patron Anejo
1/2 oz. Maple Syrup
1 1/4 oz. Grapefruit Juice
1/2 oz. Lime Juice
2 dashes of Bittermans Grapefruit Bitters Served in a rocks glass with a Cayenne pepper and sugar rim
If you don't fancy yourself a person who can tend bar very well, then you can head on over to the Mandy and have the professionals mix you up some merriment. Santa's nightcap is only available on December 24th and 25th (perfect name for the bev) and Madam Peppercorn is an ongoing addition to the winter menu. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
