VIDEO: Havaianas' Editor Preview Debuts First Ever Close Toed Line!

Last week the famous flip flop brand Havaianas invited online editors out to their SoHo show room to show off their 2011 collection and debut their first ever closed toed show line. Havaianas did a great job of transforming their show room into a fun and fitting Brazilian Market place where editors and guests sipped and snacked on traditional Brazilian food and bevs. The bright colors of Brazil where the perfect thing to help chase away the still chilly days in NYC. We were all reminded that Spring should be here any minute as we had the chance to create custom Havaiana flip flops. Above: Guests eagerly wait for their custom flip flops to be made. Below: My custom OJ&B flip flops being made fresh and fast! After I got my flip flops with the letters "O" and "J" on them, I scoped out Havaianas' first ever closed toed shoe line. I was obsessed with the sneakers. Havaianas picked the perfect time to debut these fun and colorful shoes as that is what Spring/Summer 2011 is ALL about! Above: A first look at Havaianas' first ever closed toed shoe line for Spring/Summer 2011!

I had an amazing time mingling, munching and making flip flops! Check out more pictures from the event below and make sure you check out the fun and short video that will make you feel like you were there (check out what fun and fab blogger closes out the video. I give you a hint, it is me ha ha)! Thanks again to Havaianas for inviting OJ&B to the showroom! I cannot wait to put my flip flops to good use on a fun beach ASAP!

Dia De Los Britney! Britney Spears On GMA And A Special Message From X-Tina Via Twitter!

Dia de los Britney is what I call the days when the one and only Britney Spears has a new album that drops. Today was definitely Dia de los Britney! Not only did her 7th studio album Femme Fatal drop but she also got all kinds of crunk on Good Morning America!

Above: A very happy looking Britney Spears performed in front of a live audience of 5,000 in San Francisco for millions watching Good Morning America on their television.

Say what you want to say about Britney but I have loved her since 1998! I am so proud of her and her new album. She looks healthy and happy and she is really getting back into her dancing. I was so excited to see her twerkin' it out on stage during her GMA performance. Before we know it Brit Brit is going to be back to jaw dropping performances that we know, love and miss!

Above: My favorite pop star Britney Spears works out her new songs from her 7th studio Album Femme Fatal. Below: The city of San Francisco declares today Britney Spears Day!

People all over Twitter were wishing Britney well and gushing over the new album. One person that I was particularly surprised by when she tweeted Britney was Miss Christina Aguilera. X-tina had this to say to Britney:

"Hey @BritneySpears Congrats on Femme Fatale release! Can't wait to see what you bring in the next video. xo - Xtina"

It was such a sweet thing to see Christina reaching out and finally showing the world that she has nothing against her. Britney even tweeted back! It was like pop music heaven where everyone plugs everyone's projects! This is was Britney had to say:

"Thanks @TheRealXtina. Can't wait to watch you on your new show. Hope we get to hear that voice on The Voice. -Brit"

I am so happy that Britney is back again. Every time Britney has an album it seems to be like an awesome year! I am glad I have some new Brit Brit tracks to add to the soundtrack of my life in 2011! Be sure to check out Britney's full GMA concert here:

OJ&B In The Press: Kenton Magazine Interviews OJ&B For "Behind The Blog" Series!

I was honored when Alex Liang, editor-in-chief of Kenton Magazine, asked if I would like to be featured in their "Behind the Blog" series.

Check out the interview and find out was said when they asked me about OJ&B, my dream job, my fave fashion trend of Spring/Summer 2011 and more!

Behind the Blog: Jonathan Valdez
By: Michelle Prasad

Jonathan Valdez is the writer and creator of OrangeJuiceAndBiscuits.com. The Texas native, now resident of New York City first received notable attention from Mashable Open Web Awards in 2009, when OJ&B was voted as one of the “Top Five Best Bloggers to Follow”.

OJ&B is your virtual behind-the-scenes look into industry events that any fashionista would enjoy adding to their daily web-read.

I recently had the opportunity to ask Jonathan Valdez some questions about his blog and he was gracious enough to provide us a look into who he is and what he loves to do!

Michelle: What is the content focus of OJ&B?

Jonathan: Pop culture and fashion and really anything else that I might want to talk about but mostly fashion, pop culture and events in NYC.

Michelle: Why blog? What is your goal of starting OJ&B? What do you think makes your blog different – What does OJ&B offer that is unique in the market of online journalism?

Jonathan: I blog because it gives me an outlet to express my thoughts and opinions on the things that I love like pop culture and fashion and no one can tell me what I need to or should say. My goal is to have fun and have a place to voice my opinion. I want to make people laugh. OJ&B is a place to escape.

Michelle: How do you gain access to the content you write about?

Jonathan: By working hard and developing relationships with amazing people. I am also constantly reading and absorbing information and I love sharing it with my readers.

Michelle: How much time do you spend on a typical day on OJ&B?

Jonathan: I try to update at least once a day. It can be crazy sometimes, because I spend a good amount of time on a post, editing pictures and writing an article. I am the only writer.

Michelle: What has been the greatest and most rewarding experience that you have received from becoming a blogger?

Jonathan: Meeting and running into my readers. They really get me! My readers have no fear in coming up to me at an event or on the street to say hello and I love that. You write a blog and you never know who will access it. I love getting “tweets” from people saying that I make them laugh or that they enjoy the site. I love to entertain and make people laugh. The world is too serious.

Michelle: What would be your ideal job?

Jonathan: My ideal job would be having my own talk show on T.V. or on the radio. I love interviewing people in person, because I feel that is how you really get a sense of who they are.

Michelle: What has been your favourite fashion trend of 2011? Or, what are you hoping to see on the runways this year?

Jonathan: I am LOVING all of the color for spring. Bright, bold color. I always wear color and I am glad to see so many fun, orange pieces for spring!

Michelle: Do you have any advice for those looking to vamp up their own style this year?

Jonathan: Be yourself and do it proudly! Fashion is supposed to be fun and it says so much about who you are. Also, don’t wear Crocs or Uggs. I want you to be yourself, but I also don’t want you to look a mess.

Michelle: What do you want your readers to know about you?

Jonathan: Everything I do, I do out of love. I consider myself somewhat of a comedian, so I am never trying to offend anyone. Also, I love hearing from my readers on Twitter and in person. If you see me say hello!

Michelle: Do you have any advice for anyone looking to start his or her own blog?

Jonathan: Talk about what interests you. Find topics you are passionate about and others will be drawn to that. I always talk about things that really excite me. I see a story and say “Ooo, that would be so much fun to write about!” I also say what makes me laugh and luckily others seem to find it funny too! I never think, “Hmm, I hope someone likes this or finds this funny.”

Michelle: Where do you see your blog in the next year or two?

Jonathan: I see my blog with a facelift with more features added to it. I also see myself being a brand ambassador and having sponsors.

Thanks again to Michelle and Kenton Magazine! Check out the original posting by clicking here.

OJ&B IN THE PRESS: The Scene Bisnow Plays "Mind Games" With OJ&B!

Last week I attended a private screening of Gavin Bond’s first short film, Mind Games, presented by Bullett Magazine. The screening was held at Albert Hall Tavern in New York City where guests sipped on cocktails and enjoyed shrimp and other yummy hors d'oeuvres.

The movie was indeed a short film allowing guests to pop in and out of the screening room and mingle with each other. Those that saw the film saw an intense chess game that kind of left viewers (or maybe just me) going, "what?" All I know is that the woman in the movie was sans panties leaving me to ask the all important question, "Um, what did she do with her panties?"

The man in the short film did however have clothes on. He wore great suits by designer Simon Spurr that many people (including my friend Cesar) who saw the film were loving.

Above: Special thanks to The Scene Bisnow for featuring me and my good friend stylist, Cesar Gaviria on their amazing site!

Congrats to director Gavin Bond on the premiere of his film, Mind Games. Now can you PLEASE explain to me where homegirl left her panties?

Ke$ha Shoots Glitter and Custom Condoms Into Crowd On "Get Sleazy" Spring Tour

Now when your boo makes you feel like a love sick crack head at a Ke$ha concert you can feel a bit more at ease about what might happen after the $how.

Pop music’s resident bad girl (with questionable hygene), Ke$ha, is cleaning up her act on tour, adding LifeStyle condoms to her signature glitter cannon for her "Get Sleazy" Spring 2011 Tour.

The whiskey mouthed singer is known for bringing her glitter cannon on stage, dousing fans in glitter & confetti during each show. This year, Ke$ha is helping fans play it safe while getting sleazy by supplying them with tools for safe sex.

Additionally, concert-goers can also pick up custom Ke$ha condoms (see above picture) which are LifeStyles Condoms emblazoned in Ke$ha-wrapped packaging.

Um, can we talk about how this story is a borderline hot mess, but this IS Ke$ha to the dollar sign. I loves me some Ke$ha and can we talk about how she has a glitter cannon? I am sure that Ke$ha's songs have been instrumental in many a crazy night so at least she is supplying her fans with easy access to safe options. How many people can say that they have their own condom?

I had so much fun seeing her perform last year at the Casio event. The thing I love about her is that she admits that she is a hot heated whiskey covered mess. Also, her songs are really fun to get crunk to in the club.

The question to ask yourself now is, Are you REALLY going to use a condom that was shot out of a glitter cannon? Also, Imma need you to wear some goggles or some other form of protective eyewear because the last thing you need is a cut in your eye from a flying Ke$ha condom (explain that in the emergency room).

In bed, life or at a Ke$sha concert, always be safe and wrap up yo life!

Above: Somehow a torn Ke$ha condom abandoned on the floor just seems right for this story.

Video: Miley Mocks Lohan, Disney and The Biebs on SNL

As soon as I heard that Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus was hosting SNL I knew that it was going to be a blogger's dream (I also thought it was "Pretty Cool")! I had a feeling it was going to be a pop culture explosion of Miley making fun over her co- pop artists and current hot messes but what actually happened surpassed my expectations like whoa!

The first week of March was an SNL wet dream! Charlie Sheen going cray cray with his goddesses, X-Tina going to jail, John Galliano ranting and raving and so much more. SNL and Miley managed to poke fun at all of these things in the first 3 minuets of air time. I was LOLing to the max at the opening skit with Charlie Sheen's show "Duh, Winning!" Then Lohan and Behold, there was Miley Cyrus making fun of Lindsanity Lohan. All I could think was "yaaay!"

After the opening skit it was time for Miley's Monologue. She touched on every major scandal or "black swan moment" that people made a big deal of during her career via a musical number about how she isn't perfect. At one point Miley warbles, "Don't both of those things seem worse than a bong" while encouraging the audience to agree with her. That is totally how I like to set the record straight in my life, with a huge, witty musical number.

I was also laughing out loud when Keenan Thompson and Andy Samburg did the skit about the two other members of the Black Eyed Peas, Apl.de.ap and Taboo. Every time they would mention Fergie, Miley would appear on stage as her. I really wish that Fergie would appear everytime I said her name.

If you dream of your child being on a Disney show then you should make them watch the sketch where Miley and Keenan Thompson as Raven Simon promote the Disney Channel School of acting. Techniques include being the loudest person in the room, bright pink hoodies with huge ass flowers on them, spying from a doorway, the pause and dis, eating then freezing and entering on a scooter! My favorite part was when "Raven's character name was Jamantha. Wow, no they didn't!

"The Miley Cyrus Show" is a skit that really took off on SNL and everyone was talking about what Miley might do to be a part of it. I was actually surprised when Miley came out as Justin Beiber. They scary thing was how much she actually looked like him. I LOVE Vanessa Bayer's impression of Miley Cyrus! I wonder how she felt about impersonating her to her face and touching on the Salvia smoking and making fun of her dad.

I have to give props to Miley for her SNL performance. A lot of people thought it would be horrible but I knew it would be epic! Miley was actually decent on Hannah Montana and she played a ton of characters during the shows run. The only thing I had trouble with was the shakiness is Miley's voice EVERYTIME she sang. What was that all about?

A side note to Miley: Lindsay Lohan also hosted SNL and made fun of all her problems and a few peopel and now look at her! I am not saying that it will happen to you but just watch out gurrrl!

Be sure to leave a comment and let OJ&B know what you thought of Miley on SNL!
