DKNY MEN'S Fall 2011

Donna Karan debuted her Men's collection for Fall 2011 on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Beauty & Essex in New York City's Lower East Side. The venue was the perfect spot for showcasing the Fall 2011 men's line.

The inspiration for the DKNY Men's line is Modern Military. The collection saw a slimmer, streamlined and more refined silhouette on some great basic pieces and sharp looking suits. The color palette was what DKNY called a "dark city palette made up of ash, concrete, pewter, charcoal and every shade of blue." I really loved the lines of the suits for Fall 2011.

Above and Below: Model's walking in DKNY Mens Fall 2011 wearing sharp looking suits.

The pureDKNY Fall 2011 is perfect for guys who need basic pieces and want to look put together and not super flashy. For Fall '11 pureDKNY showed colors like elephant, slate, indigo, fossil and ruby.

Above: I like the pop of color with the ruby vest.

Above: I like tend to like things that shine. Perfect way to sport up your look. This colletion is ideal for a guy's guy.

Above: I love a good stripe. I really like this look because there are so many things that you can do with each individual piece. This is a look that would look great on many types of guys.

Take a look at more pictures from the DKNY Men's Fall 2011 Show.

Above: The DNKY Men's Fall 2011 show was very high energy. The models shot out with the speed of a tweet and really forced you to pay attention to the collection.

Above: After the show the models always come out and mingle which gives everyone an opportunity to see the pieces up close. I always love how fun and casual the DKNY men's shows/presentations are.

Above: I think the sign of a good collection is when two pieces like this can stand next to each other without looking like one is out of place.

Above: One of my favorite shots that I took at DKNY Men's Fall 2011.

Congrats to Donna on a great showing of the Men's Fall 2011 line. I look forward to seeing what you have in store for the women in a couple of days!

Stay tuned to OJ&B for more posts from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and don't forget to check out OJ&B on Twitter for updates in real time!

Todd English's Ember Room Opening Night Party!

It seemed like all of Manhattan showed up for the opening of Ember Room in NYC's Hell's Kitchen on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Ember Room is the newest restaurant from renowned chef Todd English and it features a unique blend on American Asian Barbecue.

Above: Ember Room chef's prepare food at a hearth that has Todd English's initials on it.

I had a chance to taste the food while I was at the party (I always feel very Carrie Bradshaw when I go to a restaurant opening) and I have to say that it was quite tasty! It is good to see successful chefs still caring about the taste of the food and not relying on their success or their name alone to keep people coming to the table. The dishes had a unique taste that married American and Asian flavors perfectly without one overpowering the other.

As the night progressed the Ember Room slowly turned from dinner party to dance party as the guest and staff danced and celebrated Mr. English's new endeavor. It was great to see the staff having fun and dancing with the guests as the night was winding down.

Congratulations to Todd English on another amazing restaurant! I am sure that it will be a success.

Ford Models' Show Package For NYC Fall/Winter 2011

In the immortal words of RuPaul, "YOU BETTER WORK!" This is exactly what the fierce models of Ford do at fashion shows all over the world. Let's face it, without models, fashion shows would not be the same at all.

Each season agencies, including Ford Models, put together packages with all of the models that are ready to be booked for designer's shows. These packages are usually very creative and the people who create them work hard to top the packages from the previous season.

Ford Vol. II is Paul Rowland‘s second show package for Ford. The photos for the package are set on the terrace of the eighteenth floor penthouse of Ford's uptown office amidst the midtown high-rise buildings. Each model is imagined to be medieval woman set in a 21st century urban environmen (old school fierce). The styling was done by Rudy Mance, hair by Dennis Devoy and makeup by Janeen Witherspoon.

The interior lining of the show card box as well as the card backs themselves explicitly reference the zodiac in an acknowledgment to the connectedness shared by all inhabitants of the world to the universe. Check out some of the images from Ford's Show package for NYC's F/W 2011 season and be sure to look out for these girls working a runway near you!

OJ&B In The Press: The Victoria Advocate Runs Story On OJ&B!

The Victoria Advocate in Victoria, Texas recently picked up the story about OJ&B from the Matagorda Advocate that ran during the week of January 24, 2011.

I could not be happier that the story got picked up in a bigger market! I am glad that people in Texas seem to be enjoying the story about OJ&B and OJ&B covering Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

How awesome is the little cartoon that they did of me with NYC behind me? I am loving the Orange Suite and the aqua bow tie. I seriously wish that I could wear it to the tents!

Once again, thanks to Matagorda Advocate Editor, Adriana Acosta, for taking interest and writing the story!

Check out the story in the Victoria Advocate by clicking here.
