R Life Live With Robin Thicke, Samantha Ronson and Solange Knowles!

Photo Via BisNow.com

Robin Thicke tore down the Renaissance hotel as he headlined for the Renaissance Hotel's R Life Live event launching the R Life Live concert series on Thursday, October 28, 2010. Thike performed an abbreviated set and sang his hit songs including 'Lost Without You' and 'Magic' but my favorite had to have been when he ended his set by singing Lil' Wayne's song 'I'm Illi.'

I was really impressed with the way Robin Thicke captivated and the crowd and had all of the ladies melting. You can tell that he really loves performing and his voice was on point. He was even singing into people's cameras and before he left the stage he took a sip from my friend and fellow blogger Makeda of Glamazon Diaries' wine glass. It was he highlight of her night for sure! It is always awesome to see and meet celebrities and artists that are down to earth and cool.

Above: Robin Thicke belts it for the crowd. Below: Robin plays the piano with Times Square as his backdrop. I told him he did awesome and he grabbed my shoulder and said a very sincere thank you. It was awesome to see that he truly appreciates doing what he does.

Kourtney Kardashian and her Boo and baby daddy Scott Disick were there enjoying Robin's performances and Solange Knowles and Samantha Ronson got down in the DJ Booth before and after Robin's set. Rapper David Banner and former Guns N'Roses guitar player Slash both popped in for a bit as well.

Above: Samantha Ronson is a crazy amazing DJ! I had chance to tell her how awesome I thought she was and how I think her family rocks. Basically I want her to DJ my life.

The best part of the night for me had to have been when another amazing DJ, Solange Knowles, told me that she had been watching me dance all night and that she loved me!! That is a true story that I will always remember. It means a lot to me because I love amazing DJ's and I LOVE LOVE LOVE dancing! Plus we all know that she has seen some of the best dance moves ever coming from her sis.

Above: One of the coolest people that I have had the chance to meet Solange Knowles.

I first met Solange in the Hamptons when she was getting people crunk as the DJ for a SWAGG Mobile event. (Remember she told me she liked my outfit)? Basically we love each other and will be bff's soon. I could ALWAYS use another fierce friend.

Congrats to The Renassaince Hotel on launching the R Life Live concert series. The space is beyond beautiful and the staff was extremely nice! At one point the entire bar staff was behind the bar dancing and having a great time. That definitely adds to the vibe when the staff is awesome and can have fun while still staying on top of things! It was a perfect NYC event and night!

I.N.C. International Concepts Spring 2011

I had the chance to preview I.N.C International Concepts' Spring 2011 line on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at a fun and unique press preview in NYC. Instead of just having models standing and posing in the new collection, illustrator and designer, Richard Haines, was brought in to sketch giant drawings of the models and the I.N.C Spring 2011 look that they were wearing (as seen in the above photo).

Richard Haines lent his talents to the design houses of Calvin Klien, Bill Blass, Perry Ellis and Sean Combs before devoting himself full time to fashion illustration. With his popular blog, What I saw Today, Haines finds a willing and engrossing muse in what he calls the "endless runway" that is his hometown of New York. His sketches show a unique understanding of men's fashion, revealing just as much about the wearer as they do the clothes.

Above: Richard Haines stands next to one of his sketches. People at the even told me that they were surprised at how fast he can create each drawing.

The I.N.C. Spring 2011 line actually fit in well with the currently warm temperatures in the city right now. They had an individual take on looks from workday to weekend and had pieces that you could pair with so many things. I love companies like I.N.C. that have great basic pieces that look smart and can be paired and layered with so many things. It is also great to use some spring pieces as you transition into fall. Let's take a look at some of the looks that I loved!

Above: I loved this all white look for Spring 2011. There is a lot that you can do with the jacket. You can casual it up with black or dark jeans or for warmer days a nice pair of dress shorts. I love the white tuxedo pant that you can pair with a gorgeous turquoise and white madra plaid or even a nice tee with some accessories. You can even roll them up a bit. It is all about having fun with clothes.

Above: I feel like men are going to see a lot of tan in Spring 2011. You can do the same things with the jacket and pants as I mentioned above. I LOVE pairing neutrals with bold pops of color especially during Spring/Summer. Go with oranges, pinks and reds that are S/S 11's hot colors.

Above: Tanks with prints and patterns were everywhere on men in the city this S/S and will probably be back for S/S 11 so start working on those arms! They are also key basic pieces to use as undershirts, etc.

Above: A trend that I am really loving is that more and more guys are having fun with footwear. Gone are the days of one pair of brown and one pair of black. Guys have awesome sneakers, dress shoes and casual yet fun shoes to choose from now so please do so and have fun!

I had great time at the I.N.C International Concepts Spring 2011 press preview. You can look for this collection and the current one exclusively at Macy's.

China Institute’s Young Associates Present Night of Fashion: Then and Now

Last Wednesday, October 20th, the China Institute’s Young Associates (a non-profit cultural and educational organization) presented a Night of Fashion: Then and Now at CUE Art Foundation in New York. The benefit showcased the cultural evolution of Asian fashion from ancient Chinese dress to the contemporary styles of rising Asian-American designers Ann Yee, Arbitrage, Cody Sai and Janet Zheng (hair & makeup courtesy of The Temple – A Paul Mitchell Partner School), along with an innovative jewelry showcase from ken + dana design. Guests enjoyed the evening of fashion, culture, and cocktails while sipping on beverages courtesy of Christiania Vodka, Chang Beer, Mekhong: The Spirit of Thailand, Fresh Ginger, Ginger Ale, and Icelandic Glacial Water, with munchies courtesy of PopChips (at every hot fashion event in the city).

It was really cool to see the menswear line Arbitrage (a favorite of Adrien Grenier of HBO’s Entourage) being shown at the event. Arbitrage specializes in shirts, ties and cufflinks and work closely with factories overseas and in New York City.

Above and below: Models on the runway wearing clothes by Arbitrage which boasts that each dress shirt is held together by over 5,500 stitches, has sturdy, chip-proof buttons sew on. From factory to clothing rack, it takes 25 people working in synergy together to make the garment.

My favorite designer of the night had to have been menswear designer, Janet Zheng. Zheng's menswear is refined, avant-garde, and directional. She believes that clothing should be a statement and that it should be an object of desire (I love that and I totally agree Janet)! I loved Zheng's jackets that she showed from her Fall/Winter collection. I actually told my friend that I wanted to wear one asap. I also think it is interesting for a woman to exclusively do menswear. Damn it, Janet, I love you.

Above: Loving this look and loving the way the jacket is designed and how it hangs in the back. Below: I thought this was a great jacket and look as well. I am obsessed with jackets and coats!

Congrats to CIYA for a successful event. I had a great time and discovered some amazing new designers. Special thanks to my friend Lauren Rich of Rich PR for letting me know all about CIYA and producing a great event.

Falling Whistles To Host New York Extravaganza At The Box

As you know, there is nothing that I love more than going to fabulous events with fabulous celebrities to support a fabulous cause!

Susan Sarandon, Benga from HBO's The Wire, Spider-Man on Broadway's lead Reeve Carney, Fela on Broadway's Lead Kevin Mambo, Across the Universe's TV Carpio, along with members of The Roots are all scheduled to attend (and some hopefully to perform?!) at Falling Whistles New York Extravaganza on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 benefiting the rehabilitation of war affected kids in Congo and advocating their freedom.

Falling Whistles is a small window into our world's largest war. Over a year ago, laying in Titu Prison, 5 boy-prisoners spoke of the whistleblowers. Abducted in Congo and too small to carry a gun, boys were given merely a whistle and sent to the front lines of battle. The sound of their whistles calling together was meant to frighten the enemy away. Failing that, their sole duty was to receive the bullets with their bodies. With falling whistles, their only choice was to feign death, or face it. The world is changed by those who speak up. Whistleblowers. Rarely understood in their time, history looks back and calls them courageous. Around the world, the sound of the whistle means stop. Pay attention. Speak up and say the same. Make their weapon your voice and be a whistleblower for peace.

There are VIP packages available as well as a general admission of a suggested donation at the door of $30. If you decide to donate at that level, you will receive the falling whistle pendant necklace as a special thank you for your donation.

This night is sure to be amazing with a great roster of celebs and a truly great cause! You know OJ&B is going to be there covering the event from inside the infamous Box in NYC so keep an eye out for the post!

P.S. Word on the street is that the FABULOUS Rhianna might show up. Nothing is confirmed and this is just what I heard now, but if she shows then this is how I want the night to go down:

Me: Hey RiRi you look fierce as always! How was Katy Perry's wedding Boo?

RiRi: It was OK, but I wish you were there! Wanna come chill with me in my VIP booth?

ME: Well, maybe next ti... OK! It is for a good cause!

Then I get cast in Spider-Man and Fela... THE END!

Hope to see you guys there!!

For more information about this event and/or for tickets contact Sadatu@femmecat.com and for more information about Falling Whistles go to FallingWhistles.com.

P.P.S. I also want to Get Susan Sarandon's take on The Rocky Horror Picture Show Glee episode! You know I love some SuSa!

Hats Off To Scandalous New Yorker Wendy Barrett Flemming And Her East Village Shop!

I get so many compliments everyday about the hats that I wear. People literally tell me how much they like them as they walk past me on the street. The person who I have to thank for these amazing hats is the lovely Wendy Barrett Flemming. Wendy is the owner of the fab East Village hat shop, The Village Scandal as well as a true New Yorker. The Village Scandal has been around since the 90's and is still creating buzz having recently been in Page 6 Magazine, Time Out New York, Village Voice, New York Times, AM New York!

I recently had a chance to interview Wendy about The Village Scandal as we sat down for a drink at the famous Mc Sorley’s right next door to the Village Scandal in the East Village. I learned a lot about hats as well as the history of the East Village and found out that a celeb and I wear the same hat! I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I do!

Tell us about the Village Scandal.

Wendy Barrett Flemming: It opened in 94 or 95. I originally sold vintage clothing. But I always sold hats and other accessories like jewelry, umbrellas and scarves. In that time the neighborhood had about 24 vintage shops. One by one they all closed. The reason was because with vintage clothing you have one item with just one size for one person. By the time you find the perfect person for a beautiful beaded 1920’s dress it could be torn. I noticed that women looking in the mirror always say that they look fat, even models, but when they would put on a hat they would smile. I wanted to be around a happy milliner and I found that all of the accessories I sell make people smile when they look in the mirror. I learned to make hats myself. I hired some people and sent them to millinery school and we began making hats and selling hats and doing our own signature designs.

So the hats are made in NYC?

WBF: We have our Haute Couture line. The actual designer will sew the hat by hand from beginning to end. I don’t have any sewers in some little sweat shop somewhere. All firm hats like men’s fedoras are made on wooden blocks. You have to have a block for each size, each crown and each brim. The fur felt, wool felt or straw must sit on the block for 48 hours at least to form the shape so it takes two and a half days minimum to get a hat custom made. We can do fedoras, we have our signature cloche and bucket which is completely handmade and our signature newsboys that are patterned hats so they take a little longer to make but you can have a hat within two days.

Above: A rack full of amazing fedoras waiting to be worn at The Village Scandal.

Tell us about some notable people that have stopped by throughout the years.

WBF: Well Madonna use be in this neighborhood all the time in those years and she use to shop all these little shops like Religious Sex and all these leather shops that are now unfortunately gone. We had Cindy Lauper, Kevin Kline, Meryl Streep and her son. She tends to come here when she is working at the Pulic Theatre which is less than a block away. Eva Mendes is a recent customer and Collin Farrell has the hat that you have on tonight which is the grey light felston G Fedora. Justin Timberlake and a lot of people from some rock bands and local celebrities.

So if you buy cheap hats from a chain stores they don’t last very long. The Village Scandal will repair them for life, correct?

WBF: Yes, we guarantee them for life. We will reweave them, re block them and basically maintain all our hats we make for life. We also give our signature lipstick umbrella as a gift with one of our full priced hats or a gentleman’s black umbrella. We always giveaway blowing bubbles that are currently in the shape of wedding cakes and feathers for fedoras.

There seems to be a resurgence in vintage looking hats, especially with men.

WBF: Oh , yes! We worked the 1920’s Jazz Festival at Governor’s Island. Everyone was dressed in 1920’s. They were wearing boaters and skimmers and some derby’s and top hats. The Duke of Windsor popularized the derby. All of the gentleman in financial sector of London started wearing them and then they started wearing them on Wall Street. That was in the 20’ 30’s even early 40’s. If you were in finance you had on a derby. But of course you didn’t go out without a fedora on even up until the early to mid 60’s if you were a gentleman. If you wore a cap that denoted that maybe you had a job that wasn’t white collar. It is so interesting that hats reflect our history.

Above: I love this stingy brim fedora that I wore during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011. I also wore a nice navy polka dot butterfly bow tie from the Village Scandal as well!

What is that one hat style that you just love?

WBF: I just love the cloche. We can customize it where we cut it. We can cut it above the eyebrow or the eyes or down on the side. I think it makes all women look very beautiful. They are based on the 1920’s cloche. Cloche is the French word for close to the head. They became popular during prohibition because people were dancing wildly and drinking and they stayed on your head. They also look good on women of all ages. We sell them to a lot of undergraduates and you can dress them down or up.

What else makes the Village Scandal unique?

MBF: We are all accessory styling experts in the store and many of us are designers. We give everybody a free styling session. Even if you don’t buy something, we don’t care. We are going to give you the best color, crown size, brim size, style. We will give you a couple of choices so you can buy one somewhere else if you like or come back to us. Maybe you will never buy one but you will know the right style. After we show you in the mirror with and without the hat you will come back because hats do enhance everyone’s looks.

You were saying that people spend so much money on shoes and clothes but that they don’t think about hats. They tend to feel better about themselves when they see themselves in hats, right?

WBF: Right. It is so interesting to me to see for ladies with their make up done so expertly, very expensive spectacle frames on, earrings, shoes and other jewelry and the one thing they are missing is a hat. When I show them in the mirror with and without they can’t believe it. Same thing for men, if you are balding a little bit of course it can take many years off of your life.

Above: The Village Scandal has a huge selection of great hats with a staff that can find the perfect one just for you.

The neighborhood has such an amazing history. What are some fun facts to know?

WBF: Mc Sorley’s is our next door neighbor, one door west, it opened in 1864. They have a big blow out every year on February 17th. They close the block off and shoot cannons and muskets and have a marching band. Interestingly enough, Abraham Lincoln drank here when he was running for president. This neighborhood was the hat manufacturing district of the country and certainly of the city. The building where Walgreens is on Astor Place was New York Hat Company. They not only had offices there, but they made hats there as well. Abraham Lincoln bought his stove pipe hat in this neighborhood, which became his signature hat. He also stopped in Mc Sorley’s for a brew and was one of their first customers.

Above: Sabrina Chapman, Lauren Rich and me in my favorite Village Scandal hat at the SWAGG Mobile tent at the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge in The Hamptons.

What is the popular hat for men and the popular hat for women right now?

WBF: Right now for men it’s the diamond top, which means that the top of the hat is in the shape of a diamond, in a light felt which you can fold or twist and it will go back in shape. And the number one selling hat for men is the stingy brim which means the hat has a little itty bitty brim. For ladies, it’s a toss up between our Village Scandal Newsboy, which is sewn by the designer, or our haute couture Scandal cloche.

Is there anything else that you would like to say about The Village Scandal?

WBF: We offer intense customer service. It doesn’t mean high pressure by any means. When people pass in front of the store we think about what they would look best in. We really have it down to a science where we can immediately put something on your head that has the wow factor. We really love our customers. Our repeat customers are what’s keeping us in business with so many small businesses lost in the neighborhood, particularly that made their own goods.

HALLOWEEN TIP!! The Village Scandal has a much lower priced Halloween selection with interesting masks and wigs. Although you can get a quality hat and keep it for other occasions such as weddings. If you do a costume like Charley Chaplin don’t get a plastic bowler!

Chi City Fashion Interviews OJ&B!

I was so thrilled and honored when Jena Gambaccini of Chi City Fashion asked to interview me! Check it out below:

My Interview with Jon Valdez of Orange Juice & Biscuits

When I was in New York for Fashion Week in September, I had the pleasure of meeting Jon Valdez of Orange Juice & Biscuits. He is very passionate about fashion and entertainment, which is obvious from his informative yet witty blog posts. If you aren’t familiar with OJ&B, get familiar…because you will be seeing lots more of Jon in the future.

1. How did you start your blog, Orange Juice & Biscuits?

OJ&B was originally a successful morning show that I did at KTSW-FM 89.9 in San Marcos, TX for 3 years. During that time I was press at SXSW Film for 2 years in a row and got to do red carpet interviews with Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Jaime Pressly, Rosario Dawson and more. When I graduated college and the show ended, people seemed to still want to hear what I had to say about topics. I was thrilled and surprised! People kept asking me why I was not blogging so finally in August 2009I started Orangejuiceandbiscuits.com.The rest is super fun and fierce history haha.

2. What is your favorite thing to blog about?

My favorite things to blog about are funny celeb stories or an odd fashion trend. I just love using humor to express my thoughts. Like when Lohan’s shoes exploded or when Armani did male monokini’s, HOT MESS! I also love being able to voice my opinion about what the designers are putting out there each season.

3. What celebrity would you love to interview and why?

Dolly Parton, because she is Dolly Parton. I would want her to write a song for me on her nails because she actually writes music using her nails! Also, Kelly Cutrone because I have always admired her “keep it real attitude.” These little big eyed, blonde girls ask her who has inspired her the most. They expect her to say a fashion legend or a celeb but Kelly talks about some Guru or healer that has really changed her way of thinking. The girls are like “WTF?” I LOVE IT!

4. What has been your most exciting moment with regards to OJ&B?

My most exciting moment would have to be going to my first major Mercedes-Benz fashion week show in February 2010 to see Fall/Winter 2010. I got to see DKNY and Donna Karan. I will never forget being at the Donna Karan F/W 10 show because it was my very first time to see Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington from American Vogue. It was definitely a “Wow” moment because you realize how lucky you are to be reviewing a show that all of the major players are there to see. It was inspiring to see them working right in front of me. Also being official press at Merecedes-Benz fashion week in Sepetember 2010 for Spring/Summer 2011. People came up to me because they recognized who I was! I was flipping out with excitement!

5. Any new adventures for OJ&B in the future?

OJ&B is definitely growing! It is exciting to see the level of events that I am getting invited to becoming bigger and bigger. What I would love to do more video interviews and to have a talk show on television soon. My ultimate goal is to have a daytime talk show. I have a passion for interviewing people and I am itching for the right person to pick up on that and get me in front of a camera for an amazing network on T.V. or the Internet.

Last year, Jon was in the top 5 best bloggers to follow according to the Mashable Web Awards. This year, he’s nominated for Must-Follow Personality on Twitter. Click here to vote for him.

VIDEO: OJ&B Does Exclusive Interview With Actress Jodi Stevens!

I recently had the chance to interview the lovely and talented actress, Jodi Stevens, about her work in Dietrich and Chevalier: The Musical. In Dietrich and Chevalier: The Musical, currently playing at St. Luke's Theater, Jodi plays the legendary screen actress Marlene Dietrich. The show documents the love story between actress Marlene Dietrich and cabaret singer Maurice Chevalier and uses their music to complement the plot. Jodi does a wonderful job capturing the sultry essence and rule breaking spirit of Marlene Ditrich during a very interesting chapter in the screen legend's life.

I had such a wonderful time interviewing Jodi! I don't want to type too much because I really want you to watch the interview! Find out what Jodi says when I ask her what Marlene Dietrich would think about bloggers if she were still alive today!

Filmed on location at Palace Digital Studios in Norwalk, Connecticut.

5 Questions With Elaine Carroll Of Very Mary Kate!

The Internet just got a little bit more fab now that Very Mary Kate has returned with new episodes for season 2! Very Mary Kate is a web series that is the brainchild of actress, Elaine Carroll, in which she pokes fun at actress/socialite/designer/twin Mary-Kate Olsen. Recently MKO was on a bit of a vacay from her super popular web series and posted this on the Very Mary Kate website:

"OMGucci you guyz, guess what? I'm back! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. I took a vacation, and then I took a vacation from THAT vacation. It was like Inception but with vacations (and top-less)."

Elaine Carroll is from Richmond, Virginia and has a BFA in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College. She's one of the founding members of Dutch West (dutchwest.tv), a web based sketch comedy group, which produced many web series such as "Short Shorts" and "Robert DeNiro: Back in Time!". You can see her in a bunch of College Humor videos including "Dangerous Wands" and "Gritty Reboot" and as a call girl in Season 3of Mad Men. Carroll trained and performs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and LA.

I was lucky enough to have the very busy Elaine Carroll take part in OJ&B's "5 Questions With" series, where I have people of interest answer 5 questions. The last 2 are actually answered by Elaine Carroll's hilarious character, "Mary Kate Olsen." Let's begin!

1. How did this hilarious web series come to be?

Elaine Carroll: I started doing the impression when I first auditioned for SNL. It got a great response, but obviously I didn't get cast. I still wanted to perform the impression, and I've always loved making web videos, so I thought why not just make a web series or something.

2. What is the best part about doing the web series?

Elaine Carroll: The best part about doing "Very Mary Kate"? I guess it's probably just getting to write and produce something that makes people laugh. It's also great working with the really talented actors who round out the cast. It's also pretty amazing hearing from people all over the world who love the series. It's also great wearing a wig and pretending to be a lot wealthier than I am.

Above: Elaine Carroll as Mary Kate Olson in the web series Very Mary Kate.

3. Who are the other actors in the small cast?

Elaine Carroll: Bodyguard is played by Luke Sholl, Josh Ruben plays Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will Hines plays MK's NYU professor, Paul Downs plays Zac Efron and my cat plays Comet.

The following questions are for Carroll's Mary Kate Olsen Character :

4. MKO I totally saw you at the Jane Hotel a couple of weeks ago. Why didn't you say "hi?"

MK: I was too busy pretending to scroll through the contacts on my phone.

5. Since this is Orange Juice and Biscuits, I would love to know what you have for breakfast MK.

MK: I eat 12 dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a baaaaaarge. Just kidding. I've never eaten breakfast.

Above: Elaine Carroll as MKO's sister, Ashley Olsen, in Very Mary Kate.

Special thanks to Elaine Carroll for taking time out of her busy schedule to take part in OJ&B's "5 Questions With!" Be sure to check out all the hilarious new Very Mary Kate episodes by going to VeryMaryKate.com. Do me a "favesies" and make sure you are wearing your Vera Wang snuggie when you do so cause it is starting to get brrrr!

*Would you be perfect for OJ&B's "5 Questions With" series? Do you know someone who is? Email JonRValdez@gmail.com and let me know!

Diesel Black Gold Spring/Summer 2011: Longest/Fiercest/Hottest Runway Ever!

Models present creations at the Diesel Black Gold Spring 2011 collection during New York Fashion Week September 13, 2010. REUTERS/Kena Betancur (UNITED STATES - Tags: FASHION)

I was really excited to see the Diesel Black Gold show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week because I knew it was going to be young and fun! As soon as you walked in to Pier 92 you had to walk down this crazy long hallway that was lined with curtains. It was kind of dark and I was wondering where exactly I was being taken to.

Attendees arrive for the Diesel Black Gold Spring 2011 collection during New York Fashion Week September 13, 2010. REUTERS/Kena Betancur (UNITED STATES - Tags: FASHION)

Above: The long hallway to get to the Diesel Black Gold S/S 2011 show. OOO!

When I finally got to the room where the show was taking place I noticed that it was still dark with curtains blocking the windows. They really take the "Black Gold" part seriously! Then it was time for the show to start!

The first model came out and as soon as she walked by the first curtain, BAM, the curtain dropped. The same thing happened to all of the curtains, they dropped to the floor due to the fierceness of the models. How awesome would it be if that happened in real life? (Girl, don't invite Bianca because I am so tired of having to re hang my drapes!)

The curtains were hiding huge windows that filled the room with light. When the models got to the end of the runway they hooked a left and waked outside of the window to get back to the start of the cat walk. I was pretty impressed.

Above: Awesome picture showing the models walking inside and outside during the Diesel Black Gold S/S 11 show at Pier 92.

The clothes for the collection showed a lot of earth tones with browns, khaki and rich leather. It reminded me of a sexy desert for some reason. The thing that stood out most to me on the male models were the crazy good sandals they rocked with each outfit. I tweeted Diesel immediately to tell them that I needed some for S/S 11.

Take a look of some of the looks that I loved and then check out the entire show by watching the video direct from the runway! Don't you love technology allowing you to be there when you may not have been there?

Above: I like the scarf and jacket situation. I want the sandals but I might not wear them with the jacket. It reminds me of when I would run out of the door in college and literally had no time for actual shoes and it was freezing out!

Above: Still a slim leg for men but mark my words, in a season or two you will see wide leg bell bottom esque pants happen for men. Why? because it is back for women and it takes a couple of seasons for it to translate into menswear just like the skinny jean... and it happend in 03/04 already let's be honest.

Special thanks to Diesel for hooking me up with some their AMAZING Idol shoes to rock during fashion week! I am pretty obsessed with them!!

The Cleanse Craze

It seems like everywhere you go someone is talking about cleanses. My friend could not go out with me one weekend because she was doing a big cleanse and in last months Ladies' Home Journal First Lady Michelle Obama spoke about doing one. "I was on a sort of cleanse and I was just eating vegetables," Obama told the magazine. The question on my mind and perhaps yours is, "Do these things really work?"

Designers, fashion editors, publicists and makeup artists are the latest people picking up on a new vegan food cleanse: The Joulebody Kickstart Food Cleanse designed by nutrition counselor and fitness expert Yvette Rose. Rose conducted more than three years of research while developing the Kickstart program. It is designed to be the first phase of an on-going health and nutrition regimen. “Clients love the KICKSTART Food Cleanse because they don’t have to think about what they’re eating," says Rose. "We work with a proprietary assessment tool to customize the mix of meals based on an individual’s lifestyle, health needs and mindset."

Above: Yvette Rose of the Kickstart Food Cleanse. Rose says that her clients have experience postitive results from her cleanse and that it encourages them to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Hasaan Morse of Morse Code PR says that he has experienced results himself. “ I investigated a variety of cleanses and having never done one before. I was intrigued by the KICKSTART Food Cleanse because it enabled me to eat meals instead of only drinking juices," says Morse. "Throughout the experience I never felt starved and was truly surprised by the surge in energy and mental clarity that followed."

“I have done quite a few cleanses in my life but none as impressive as The Joulebody Kickstart Food Cleanse. I am a lover of food but I always strive to be as healthy as I can be. Sometimes this is more easily said than done, as a full-time working mother of a 4-year old boy. By nature I am slim but wanted to lose a few excess pounds, which this cleanse definitely helped me to achieve," says Larissa Thomson, fashion market director at Self.

The Kickstart Food Cleanse is conveniently delivered to a client’s door with easy to follow instructions and email support throughout the process. Foods and juices come in glass containers, which maintain freshness. Among the drink blends are Berry Chia, a delicious protein enhanced electrolyte replenisher and the chlorophyll enhanced smoothies.

Would you ever try a cleanse? Have you or someone you know done one and has it worked? Let me know in the comments section, especially if you try the Kickstart Food Cleanse.

VIDEO: OJ&B Sits Down With Actor/Director Of Steamboat Scott Bryce

I recently had the chance to go to Norwalk, Connecticut to interview actor, Scott Bryce at Palace Digital Studios. Bryce is director of the hilarious web series, Steamboat: Most Loved Soap as well as an Executive Producer and Director at Palace Digital Studios where the interview was filmed. He is probably best known for playing the infamous role of Craig Montgomery on the hit daytime soap opera, As The World Turns, on and off for 15 years (Girl let me call you back, my stories are on)! Bryce has also been on many hit television shows including Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, Law & Order, Murphy Brown and many more.

One of my favorite things about Scott Bryce is that he played Mike McQueen (Brooke McQueen's dad) in one of my favorite television shows of all time, 1999's Popular. Popular is from the mastermind of Glee's Ryan Murphy and according to Bryce, Murphy had wanted to do a television show about high school with singing and dancing back in '99 but the networks did not think it would work. (Hmmmm, never let go of your dreams kids!)

In this interview Bryce talks about Steamboat: Most Loved Soap, a hilarious web series that lovingly pokes fun at the dying genre of soaps. The amazing thing about Steamboat is that the actors in the series are all current and former soap stars so they know what they are making fun of! We also talk about the possibility of me and OJ&B being in upcoming episodes. How AMAZING would that be?! But enough with my writing! Check out the awesome interview I did with Scott Bryce shot on location in Norwalk, Connecticut at Palace Digital Studios.

VIDEO: Dancing Flight Attendants Make Flying Fun!

I really really hate when I have to fly, but I think that would change if more airlines were like the Philippines' Cebu Pacific Airlines where the flight attendants dance while showing you the safety demonstration before the flight!

Let's be honest here, that has always been then best part of the flight and people already have a "flight attendant" dance, so putting this to music just makes sense. You know I try to do everything on a high crunkness level so having flight attendance dance to Gaga to show me how to be safe in case of an emergency is perfect for me!

Some people say that this video might have been planted on Youtube by Cebu Pacific Airlines' marketing team because it was uploaded to a new Youtube account the day that the dancing happened and the "surprised" customer had their recording device ready to go seconds before the dancing started. You can see more of the story here.

It does not matter to me if it was planted or not! I am just glad that it was posted and that someone made my dreams into a reality! I want all my flights to be like this. Check it out:
