Lyndel Beaded Edition Sunglasses: Oh So MKO!

Inspired by the elements of Native American arts and culture, Mosley Tribes proudly presents their newest addition to the Lyndel sunglass category, the hand beaded temples. Patterned after Native American hand woven blankets, both temples on the black Lyndel are individually hand beaded by Jenny Dayco. The former graphic designer and talent agent is self-taught in the art of jewelry designing and works instinctively from the gut while her hands brilliantly produce each and every single piece. “I just love making things that are insane and fantastic, pushing my own understanding of beauty and adornment on the body,” Dayco gushes. “I love creating pieces that make people feel confident and bring them joy.”

If there is one thing that I remember about the 90's it was things inspired by Indian blankets. I think this is a really cool idea and totally goes with the whole 90's trend that is in full force. I am really surprised that I have not seen MKO or some other celeb hipster princess wearing them. They would also go well with Gaga's 90's look that she is currently rocking as well.

Above: Pair these with a shirt that has a wolf on it and you will be all kinds of 1993! Look out SXSW 2011!

The Beaded Lyndel will be produced in limited quantities and are currently available exclusively at Oliver Peoples Boutiques and select stores nation wide.

Be sure to let me know what you think of these glasses by leaving a comment or clicking the reaction boxes! The choices are Hilar, Loves and Hott Mess!

ORANGE JUICE AND BISCUITS FLASHBACK!

Remember when Orange Juice and Biscuits was Morning Talk Worth Waking For?! I do! I loved my morning talk show full of the best celeb gossip! I thought it would be fun to post some flashbacks from when OJ&B was an award winning radio morning show!

Relive the magic from this short commercial we did right before the show ended. It was a bit too late to send out but I love it! Co hosting with me was the lovely Amanda Dugan! As we would always say,"GET IT!" OJ&B is still one of the top 4 collegiate morning shows in the nation! HOLLA!

Be on the lookout for more flashbacks in the future!

SPOTTED: Alicia Keys Dining At Via dei Mille In SoHo!

Alicia Keys accepts the award for Best Collaboration at the 2010 BET Awards in Los Angeles on June 27, 2010. UPI/Jim Ruymen Photo via Newscom

So last night (a couple of hours ago) I experienced an AMAZING chef's preview of the menu at Via dei Mille in SoHo with Sabrina Chapman and Natasha Huang. The food was spectacular! Via dei Mille definitely knows how to do pasta and desserts! My favorite disses are for sure the crème brûlée and the pastas! They also had this cocktail with cherry that is probably my favorite cocktail in the entire city!

Besides amazing food, Via dei Mille has amazing people. Dining next to us was none other than the gorgeous and talented Alica Keys! I did not notice her until she was leaving but she looked stunning in a hot pink fitted dress. I have to say that the very pregnant Keys proved that you can still look beautiful and be the hottest girl in the room as she put many a non pregnant girl to shame. I heard that she was beyond nice as well. If Alicia keeps eating at amazing places while pregnant her baby is going to have very good tastes when it comes to food!

DKNY Launches New Fall 2010 Campaign Via Social Media!

DKNY's PR team continues to show time after time they know how to effectively use social media. This time they have launched their Fall 2010 ad campaign via the social media site Facebook, giving their ultimate fans the very first look!

The Fall 2010 campaign was shot in Washington Square Park and the Max Lang Gallery by photographer Nathaniel Golberg. The stylist for the shoot was Alastair McKimm, hair was done by Esther Langham and the makeup artist was Lucia Peroni. The models are Madisyn Ritland, Sheila Marquez, Alex Sandor, Hyoni, Bregje and Amanda Noorgard. I love letting people know who did all the behind the scenes because without them there would be no amazing photos!

The campaign was inspired by the collection, THE ART OF THE CITY, as well as the New York art scene overall. DKNY wanted to catch moments of seeing and being seen. Because the clothes had a strong graphic feel to them like color blocked in rich tones with pops of blue, the design house felt it was natural to see them in the gallery with a fresh, new perspective of the city from DKNY.

I am always telling people how great DKNY is at utilizing social media. Launching their new campaign via Facebook is brilliant. They have also given their Facebook page a facelift including new features for fans to explore. Now DKNY lovers can view behind-the-scenes videos of the DKNY runway shows, keep up with celebrities wearing DKNY around the globe, take part in interactive programs and contests and so much more!

Check out DKNY's Facbook page here. While you are there be sure to check out OJ&B's Facebook page as well by clicking here.

Assouline Presents Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation

Celebrate sixty years of revolutionary design with Assouline's newest book, Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation. Set to receive the Board of Director’s Legend Award at the Fashion Group International on October 28, 2010, this volume pays tribute to this extraordinarily innovative and iconoclastic designer, highlighting Pierre Cardin’s contributions to the world of couture, fashion, and perfume, reflecting his spirit and energy as well as the brand’s international presence. The book was written by Jean-Pascal Hesse, who holds a degree in history, has been Director of Communications at the Cardin fashion house for close to 15 years.

Above: I love everything about mod!

Born in 1922 in San Biagio di Callalta, near Venice, Pierre Cardin immigrated to Paris in 1924. After working briefly with Elsa Schiaparelli, Cardin joined Dior in 1946 and opened his own couture house in 1950. He was a pioneer from the start, creating a design-based, architectural fashion with a futurist sensibility. Cardin also had an avant-garde understanding of fashion’s relationship to new audiences, presenting his collections to large crowds. He was the first to demonstrate that fashion can be both a creative process and a business—and that one man can excel as both a businessman and an artist.

Above: Some of Pierre Cardin's epic work! Cardin was very ahead of his time.

This book would be the perfect gift for any lover of fashion. I love Assouline's books. They always highlight the best of what luxury has to offer. Maybe they will do a book about OJ&B!!

Above: This picture is pretty epic. Note the men in the red and green suits with big boots tucked into their dress pants like how they are worn now! Fashion totally recycles!

The Mel Gibson: The Oak Bar NYC's Bi-Polar Cocktail

Start with Van Gogh (a famous bi-polar) Vodka & Dutch Gin, add something bubbly and something pickled, serve on the rocks and you have The Oak Room in New York City's bi-polar cocktail the Mel Gibson. It only makes sense that this hot mess of a man is named after something that can make you a hot mess as well.

The famed and fabled Oak Bar has been part of iconic New York since it first opened its doors in 1907. Originally designed as a men’s-only club, the Oak Room and Bar have played host to many of the city’s highest profile names and events, including Truman Capote’s legendary Black and White Ball, and continue to host glamorous events to this day.

The Oak Bar is shaking things up with a saucy nod to its men-only past with the introduction of a monthly burlesque show featuring The Sophisticates. Join silver-throated crooner and low comic Bastard Keith, and retro-futurist beauty Madame Rosebud in the Plaza Hotel's handsome and intimate Oak Bar. Step from the bustle of modern Central Park into your own private 1950’s cabaret, where playful chorines dance between tables and the host sips Scotch while keeping the energy up and the audience rolling. The next performance is July 25th.

There is nothing that I love more than vintage New York City! When I walk down the streets I always think of how the city used to be. People did not dare leave their apartments looking crazy. Going to a show or event meant you dressed to the nines! I would love to have things go back to the glamour of old New York. I guess that the Oak Room and Bar is a great place to start.

Rolando Santana Wants To Make You Feel Special!

Rolando Santana debuted his line, Rolando Santana, in September 2009. The line may be new, but Rolando Santana has been in the industry designing for 12 years. Santana has taken his knowledge of fashion and what women want to create an elegant and chic line that women from models to socialites like Real Housewife Alex McCord are loving!

Above: Alex McCord wearing Rolando Santana to a Leica Camera event with Patrick McMullan (middle) and Matthew Modine (right).

I have had the chance to meet Rolando on several occasions and he even attended and dressed some of the ladies at Summer Social 2010! Rolando spoke exclusively to me and OJ&B about his beautiful new collection. Here is what he had to say.

"My collection is a reflection of my personality and a way to connect to my consumer. It is young, contemporary and when I am designing my collections I try design pieces that take a woman many places but most importantly, pieces that would make her feel special."

Above: NH Media Founder, Natasha Huang (right) and friend Allie Giesen (left) both In Rolando Santana dresses at Summer Social 2010!

From the looks and sounds of people's compliments during Summer Social about Natasha and Allie's dresses, I would say that he is doing a good job at making women feel very special. Let's check out some of my favorite looks from Mr. Santana!

Above: I am all about this two toned romper! I think it looks amazing on and it is perfect for right now during the warm months. The feminine dress on the right is very sweet and can easily go from day to night with the right accessories.

Above: I really love this look! The looseness of the piece combined with the tough boots really speak to me. I love mixing soft with tough. Pairing boots with things you would not think to pair them with can totally transform an outfit and give you a fun edgy look.

Above: Rolando has these awesome rain jackets that are light but get the job done! In a place like NYC where you spend a lot of time in a jacket, it is very important to look fab and wear a fun jacket that reflects your personality. They come in a rainbow of colors!

Congratulations to Rolando on starting up his line! I wish him nothing but the best and I look forward to seeing what he has in store for Spring/Summer 2011!

DKNY and Founder Of Same Sky Invite You To A Special Shopping Event!

DKNY and founder of Same Sky, Francine Lefrak, invite you to a very special shopping event for women and men at the Madison Avenue DKNY Store on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm. Guest can sip on champagne and enjoy hor d'oeuvres as well as receive 15% off all DKNY purchases when they buy a Same Sky Bracelet benefiting women in Rwanda. There is nothing that I love more than shopping for a great cause!

Same Sky Bracelets are made by women in Rwanda and is a trade-not-aid initiative providing employment opportunities to women who survived the 1994 Genocide. Same Sky allows these women to rebuild their lives and lift themselves out of poverty by providing them with a Hand UP NOT a Hand-Out. I have often heard that Donna Karan has never met a cause that she didn't like. This event is just one of the many ways that Karan gives back to her community and the world!

Twilight Saga, GLEE, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner Lead with Most Nominations For The Teen Choice Awards 2010

The cast of FOX Networks runway smash hit Glee has come a long way since they took the above picture at last year's Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles. The Glee stars along with the Twilight Saga, Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus, and Taylor Lautner are all in the lead with the Most Nominations for the Teen Choice Awards 2010 as the final wave of nominees came rolling in. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Twilight Saga: New Moon lead the pack overall with a combined 17 nominations, while GLEE and Miley Cyrus each earned 13 nods and Taylor Lautner garnered 11.

This year the text-your-bff-to-ask-if-she-wants-to-totes-have-a-party-and-invite-all--the-hotties-from-school-to-watch-it-together-worthy show will be hosted by Katy Perry. (Gross! She can host this thing but PLEASE FOX do not let her sing Summer Gurls!) The Teen Choice Awards, airing Monday, Aug. 9 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX, gives fans ages 13-19 the chance to vote once each day for all of their favorite Teen Choice 2010 nominees at www.teenchoiceawards.com. The awards celebrate the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

I totally remember the first TCA. I voted my heart out for people like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Britney and Jennifer Love Hewitt! In 2010 teens are looking forward to the likes of Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Logan Lerman, Zachary Levi, Ryan Sheckler and Yvonne Strahovski, David Archuleta, Kristen Bell, John Cena, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron, Victoria Justice, Jim Parsons and Shailene Woodley to join in on all of the LOL slash OMG action.

Above: Britney Spears attends the Teen Choice Awards 1999 in Los Angeles. This is why I am so concerned that the 90's are back in full force in the fashion world!

I REALLY, REALLY hope Miley provides us with a hott mess performance like last year's TCA to celebrate this victory, but how can one top busting out of a mobile home and pole dancing on an ice cream cart that says "Miley's Ice Cream" on it?! I am sure she will find a way! (It is not smack talking when you are just stating what actually happened!) RELIVE THE MAGIC BELOW!

VIDEO: OJ&B Talks Social Media Style At The Pierre Hotel's Sangria Social!

The Pierre Hotel's bar, Two E, had a Sangria Social to celebrate Social Media Day on Wednesday, June 30th and Orange Juice and Biscuits was thrilled to be an official host! Two E celebrated Social Media Day with $18 carafes in five different flavors. Everyone who blogged, tweeted or put up a Facebook post about the event and printed it out was treated with a free glass of sangria!

The event brought out the hottest people in social media, so I decided to interview some of them on their social media style! During the Sangria Social I interviewed Sadtu Usman of Femmecat.com, Michelle Joni Lapidos of Spa Week Daily and Valentina Monte of ValenTEA Party about their hot looks! I also had the pleasure of interviewing the Director of Public Relations for the Pierre, Nora Walsh, about the event and what is new at the fab hotel!

Take a look at the short yet fun video from the Sangria Social at The Pierre Hotel in New York City!

P.S. CONGRATS to the Pierre Hotel for recently being named one of Travel + Leisure's "20 to Watch" for 2010's Best Up-and-Coming Hotels! Check out the write up here!

Meet America's Newest Pin-Up Girl: 365 Days of Betty White!

Betty White is totally the Lady Gaga of her age group in terms of popularity! The 88-year-old is literally everywhere! I have even seen a giant Betty White in Times Square to promote her new show Hot In Cleavland. Now Betty White will be available all year long with The Betty White Calendar, a 24/7 tribute to one of America's most beloved actresses, comediennes, and winner of multiple Emmy Awards. Who can forget her amazingly funny Super Bowl commercial for Snickers or the time she hosted SNL and literally stole the show? SNL had to bring back the really good people just so she could have people to act with that were on or close to her level!! Her SNL hosting gig also brought SNL its highest since 2008! GET IT BETTY!

Betty White has dedicated herself to improving the lives of animals and this calendar is no exception. All of White's proceeds will benefit The Morris Animal Foundation based in Denver, Colorado.

I am loving the idea of 365 days of Betty! As you can see by my logo I love a good pin-up girl and Betty makes a perfect one. She was always my favorite Golden Girl! I think it is safe to say that she is totally America's Sweetheart! LOVE YOU BETTY!

The Betty White Calendar 2011 is will go on sale in September. For more info on the Morris Animal Foundation click here!

OJ&B Celebrates 25 Years Of DollyWood with 5 Amazing Dolly Quotes!

Country Music legend and OJ&B favorite, Dolly Parton, celebrated 25 Years of Dollywood in a one-hour special that took place on the Hallmark Channel this past weekend. The special featured the Grammy winner and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee in a musical tribute taped at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dolly's friends including multiple Grammy Award winner Kenny Rogers,(Rogers and Parton sang the hit 'Islands in the Stream' which remains the #1 duet of all-time! What an accomplishment!) Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and many more all made appearances to congratulate Dolly on 25 great years! Also joining in the fun was Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus who is lucky enough to have Dolly as her Godmother!! How amazing would it be to have Dolly as your Godmother?

Dolly has always had a way with words (she is a songwriter after all)! So to celebrate her accomplishment I am going to list my top 5 Fave Dolly quotes of all time!

1. "I`m not offended by dumb blonde jokes because I know that I`m not dumb. I also know I`m not blonde."

2. "It's a good thing I was born a girl, otherwise I'd be a drag queen."

3. "I was the first woman to burn my bra - it took the fire department four days to put it out."

4. "You'd be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap!"

5. "The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."

Number 5 is my absolute favorite Dolly quote. Congratulations Dolly! Thanks for everything you do!

Check out an exclusive video of Dolly talking about the 25 years of Dollywood here.

The 4th Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards Pre Party Hosted By Robert Verdi

There were so many fab events in June that it was hard to keep up! One of my favorite events that I attended was The 4th Annual Independent Handbag Designer Awards pre party hosted By Robert Verdi at the Swarovski Crystallized concept store in SoHo. (The concept store in Soho is the only Swarovski CRYSTALLIZED store in the United States. The other stores are located in London, Shanghai and Austria!)

Above: A floor length chandelier made with Swaroski Crystals hangs by the staircase in the two level Swaroski Crystallized concept store in SoHo.

Handbags sketches were submitted by fashion students and finalist were picked to have their creations come to life! I saw some amazing talent come from these students, some better than what is currently out there today! The bag at the top of this post is actually the winner for the bags with crystallized Swarovski elements. "Tammi Tales" was designed by Aimee Kestenberg who drew inspiration from the Australian Blue Ring Octopus. The limited edition bag made with materials like cafe creme lambskin, blue suede, plum red italian suede and Swaroski Crystals is priced at $2,200.

I was OBSESSED with the amount of talent that Aimee Kestenberg possessed. She told me that she is a Leo just like me and that I would love her designs that included lions. SHE WAS RIGHT! Check out this amazing piece of Kestenberg's that she wore to the event.

Above: An amazing piece by Aimee Kestnberg. It is made of real gold and a special python skin! BEYOND EPIC and truly unique!

There were so many creative designers in the crowd that night including Margaret Carmona who creates woven bags made from old computer cords and cables.

Above: Margaret Carmona proudly holds her black and white woven bag made entirely out of old computer cords and cables! What a chic and clever way to recycle!

One of my absolute favorite bags of the evening was this genius bag by Lee Mattocks who won best overall handbag in style and design.

Above: Can we talk about how phenomenal this bag is? I love the vintage feel it has with the modern an subtle use of the bird claws to hold the handle. It took me the second time to notice the claws and they blew me away! AMAZING JOB!

On hand to host the evening was none other than legendary fashion guru and sunglasses enthusiast Robert Verdi. Verdi told me that they brought in an old bag to look at all the new bags. With Verdi, what you see on T.V. is what you get in person as well!

Above: :(L to R) Malik So Chic from the CW's High Society, Fashion Expert Robert Verdi, and a friend.

The event was fab to say the least! One of the best parts was the Crumbs Bake Shop mini cupcakes that were placed thought the event. You know that Crumbs are an OJ&B favorite!

Congratulations to all of the finalists and winners of the 4th Annual Independent Handbag Awards! Thank you for showing the big designers out there that do the same thing every season how it is suppose to be done!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!: Celebrate Your Freedom With Fun Summer Jams!

Fireworks #1
In the immortal words of one Miss Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus, "Yeeeeeeea! IT'S A PARTY IN THE U.S.A!" Today we celebrate our freedom to live, laugh, love and party in an amazing country know as the United States of America! (Thanks to the brave men and women who serve in the armed forces who make that possible!) We also celebrate our freedom to listen to WHATEVER type of music that we want. That being said I am going to share with you 5 of my favorite Summer Jams!

I HATE Katy Perry's Summer Guh's or however she spells it. That is a really horribly written song and I won't stand for it being the official summer song of 2010. "Daisy dukes, Kini's on top?" Really KP? That song took 2 seconds for your team to write and sadly you said, "OK I'll subject people to it." Here are some songs that don't suck and are perfect for the Summer!!

Right now one of my favorite summer jams (maybe THE favorite) is 'Tightrope' by the AMAZING Janelle Monae! I saw this talented jewel perform at SXSW 2009 and she literally blew me away! I am so glad that she is blowing up like I knew she would!

I have ALWAYS loved The Decemberists ever since I was a DJ at KTSW-FM 89.9. 'July, July'! was one of the first songs that I played as a DJ that I really fell in love with. Check it out! So good for a chill summer day!

Um how can any summer go by without the Lyte Funky Ones A.K.A LFO with their Summertime Girls'?! Just saying Katy Perry, this is what a fun summery pop song is suppose to sound like! ("Think about that Summa and I bug cause I miss it!")

So you really can't have summer with out playing 'Car Wash' by Rose Royce! I love this song. It totally makes me want to have a car wash party. OOOO! Theme idea!

And yes I had to! Well... because, how can you not? Just look and see for yourself. I all I am saying that she had dumps like a truck!

Now those songs are songs of the SUMMER!

Summer Social 2010: Bringing Out The Best Of NEW New York!

Orange Juice and Biscuits had co hosting duties along with YOUAREONTHELIST.com for Summer Social 2010 on June 29, 2010 to celebrate the Launch of NH Media! The event was a huge success bringing out the best of the best in public relations, social media, entertainment, and New York City social life. Cult Studios was the perfect location for this event with enough room to have tons of fun things going on, and let me tell you that there was plenty to do that night!

Upon entry, each guest was given a Brazilet for good luck. I love Brazilets. I feel they are the perfect thing to have when starting a new beginning. Guests mingled while sipping on Oro Tequila, 1947 Beer, Honest Tea and One Coconut Water. Q Events provided gourmet hors d’oeuvres, including a spectacular chocolate fountain with 15 toppings!! O.K. I HAVE to talk about the food! Sometimes party food is hit or miss but Q Events got it right EVERYTIME! Each tray that passed by was even more delicious than the one before. The chocolate fountain was so much fun and the toppings were so good. Thank you Q Events for providing the well needed food!

The Village Scandal brought unique hats and headwear for guests to try on as Boulevard Magazine snapped festive and fun photos. I have to say that this was such a fun idea! My fab skimmer hat that I wore to Summer Social was courtesy of The Village Scandal located in the East Village. I had so many guest come up to me and rave about how much fun the hat photo shoot was. What is a party with OJ&B without photo shoots a go-go? NH Media and OJ&B's guest have to always feel super glam!

Above: The lovely ladies of The Village Scandal providing fun for all at Summer Social 2010! PLEASE Check out The Village Scandal in the East Village. The hats are superb!

An interactive Twitter Waterfall projected a live stream of tweets about Summer Social 2010. You know I loves me some Twitter so we had to have a screen for people to shout out to each other, be silly and say what they wanted about the event!

The best thing about having a fun celebration is when you can also give back. Summer Social raised over $800 that will be donated to The Blind Project, an organization that facilitates the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked women in Southeast Asia. To raise awareness about its cause, The Blind Project had guests create art that reflected their emotion upon reading touching stories from survivors. Thank you to everyone who donated!

What is a party with out amazing people attending it? I want to personally thank each and every one of you for coming out to Summer Social 2010! Let's see who showed up at the social!

Above: Designer and friend, Rolando Santana, looked great at the social! He is the one responsible for the amazing dress that made Natasha look so good all night!

Above: The Women of MSG Entertainment. They are the best!

Above: Celebrity Magician Matt Wayne and Karen Biehl with Eli the Celebrity Chihuahua.

Above: From L to R Rachel Bernstein, Carly Henderson, Joe Hodges, Emily Wade, Jonathan Valdez, Michelle Joni Lapidos, JD Breen, Kim Weber and Laruen Rich.

I cannot thank everyone enough for coming out to support! Once again Thank you to the talented Rolando Santana who created Natasha Huang's neutral-colored floor-length maxi dress and to The Village Scandal for my amazing skimmer hat. Also to FineandDandyShop.com for providing me with my silver and charcoal blue silk striped bow tie.

Another huge thanks to all of the Summer Social 2010 sponsors by Q Events, Cult Studios, The Boulevard Magazine, BNI, Honest Tea, 1947 Beer, Oro Tequila, The Professionals, Brazilets, One Water, Pop Chips, The Blind Project, China Glaze, Tarte Cosmetics and Jen Chu Design.

Be sure to check out more pictures from Summer Social here!
