VIDEO: OJ&B Visits The Park Avenue Panty Palace! Exclusive Interview With JD Breen Of Hanky Panky!

On the next OJ&B, Hanky Panky Panties and the celebrity women who love them! Yes really, we are going to talk panties on OJ&B!

I recently had the chance to take a tour or the Hanky Panky headquarters A.K.A the Park Avenue Panty palace and had a private panty panel with JD Breen, Visual Manager and official Glam Guru for the famous panty brand Hanky Panky, and the rest of the Hanky Panky Crew! Check out a bit of what I learned and then be sure to watch the hilarious yet informative interview with JD Breen of Hanky Panky! I am really proud of it!

Hanky Panky has been around since 1977 when designer Gale Epstien created a hand-made lingerie set for her friend, Lida Orzeck, crafted out of embroidered handkerchiefs. The original designs wowed retaliers and industy experts and were the inspiration for the company name, Hanky Panky. Today Gale Epstein is the Co-owner and creative director for Hanky Panky and continues to influence trends in lingerie and sleepwear.

Above: The Co-Owner and creative director of Hanky Panky, Gale Epstein, shows OJ&B some original Hanky Panky Pieces that started it all back in 1977.

I was amazed at how many celebrities are more than in love with Hanky Panky. Let me list just a few of my faves who love the line. We have Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Mariah Carey, Zooey Deschanel, Rhianna, Nicky and Paris Hilton, Whitney Port, The sisters Kardashian and sooo many more. Too many to list actually.

Instead of me going on and on and making you read about Hanky Panky, take a look at this short interview that I did with JD Breen. In it we discuss the history of the brand as well as where you can get customizable "couture" thongs and most importantly the official OJ&B THONG! That's right! We watch the video and look out for the OJ&B Thong giveaway soon!

Will Makar & The Red Line LOVE OJ&B And Have Pics To Prove It!

A month or so ago I tagged along with my friend Kalyn to see her friend Will Makar and his band Will Makar & The Red Line play at Arlene's Grocery in the East Village. I was really impressed by their sound and was particularly impressed with the violinist slash saxophone player who blew me away!

The band is made up of Aj Sealy, Kazumi Shimokawa, Ale Giuliani, Corey Rupp, Rhett Price and of course Will Makar. If Will looks familiar it may be because he is an American Idol Contestant from season 5 who made it all the way to top 14. They are all really nice guys and surprised me with this amazing first! A photo showing love for OJ&B with OJ&B!

Thanks so much Will Makar & the Red Line for this awesomeness and for spreading the word about OJ&B! I all kinds of encourage other people to show their love for OJ&B in creative ways and I will showcase them on the site! Now get to snappin'!

For more information on Will Makar & The Red Line click here.

Lady Gaga Locked and Loaded On July Cover Of Rolling Stone!

Lady Gaga has machine gun jubblies yet again! Remember when she first sported them at the end of the Bad Romance video? Personally I am loving this July 2010 cover of Rolling Stone and I really want a big print of it to hang on my wall. (July is the month of my B-day Rolling Stone! A signed copy perhaps?!) It is totally going to be iconic when we look back on the history of pop music.

On another note, what does everyone think of Gaga's whole "less is more" look. I mean she has been wearing the whole bra and panties situation EVERYWHERE and I do mean everywhere. Let's take a look shall we.

Now Gaga proves that the bra and panties look is totes the new casual jeans and t-shirt look. Basically it's the go to outfit for any occasion.

You can wear it to the ball game:
Lady Gaga sits in a private suit wearing a bra, panties, and a Mariano Rivera jersey while cheering the Yankees on during a subway series match against the Mets on June 18, 2010 in the Bronx, NY (photo by Jack Shea / Meet The Famous) Photo via Newscom

You can wear it to a new hot trendy NYC restaurant opening:

Above: Lady Gaga at the opening of Hudson Hall in NYC June 8, 2010.

You can of course wear it on stage:

Above: Lady Gaga performs at the 02 Arena in London on May 30, 2010.

You know I loves me some Gaga so I am not hating just observing. I actually started loving her more when I saw what her ready to wear has become. I am interested in this whole stripped down look though. I guess the logical thing to do after wearing all sorts of craziness would be to just wear underwear and over sized shirts and jackets and machine guns. We all wanted to know last year where LG was going to go from lace on her face etc. But my question to you Miss Gaga is where do you go from undies?!?

Let me know what you think she will do next in the comments below!!

John Varvatos Spring/Summer 2011

John Varvatos debuted his Spring/Summer 2011 collection for men this past week during Milan Fashion Week. John Varvatos is absolutely one of my favorite menswear designers right now. I also really really love his fragrances. I am loving this collection that Varvatos describes as "rock 'n roll gentleman in the countrside." I am all about edgy meets dapper and sophisticated. I also love that the line is a bit on the darker pallet with dusty blues, shades of grey, chocolate browns, black and white and dashes of lavender and plum. Although I would probably lighten it up with bursts of color (you guys know me and my color!)

The silhouettes are Soft and weightless providing a sharp but not stiff look. The outerwear, tailored pieces, shirts and knitwear come lean and close to the body, but not too tight. Fit is key! You never want to look like you got a smedium in the baby section of the store.

Above: More runway shots from Milan Fashion Week. John Varvatos always knows how to do it so well!

I currently love rolling up all of my pants right now and event making some of them shorts. I also really want some sort of duffel/vitage doctor's bag situation because my messenger bag all kinds of hurts my back. I think I need some JV S/S 11 in my life.

I also love that John Varvatos loves music because so do I. He often hosts great shows slash parties at his Bowery location which used to be the legendary CBGB's. He did a great job saving the feel of the historic space and you know that if JV is holding an event there you just have to go. Check out what the music and fashion lover had to say about his Spring/Summer 2011 line.

“My brand is celebrating its tenth year this season. The signature handwriting was developed early on – a mix of rock sensibility and old-school savoire faire with an emphasis on exclusive fabric and leathers in unexpected finishes and those all-important little details – and it’s remained consistent as we kept evolving through the years. Themes are fickle: they do not interest me. Characters are relevant: that’s what I always have in mind when I design. For this collection, I thought about a rock ‘n roll gentleman in the countryside: an urban exile living far from the maddening crowd but still up for an unexpected dose of dressing up. The interpretation is a relaxed, comfortable wardrobe made of light pieces that have a soft, worn-in elegance to them; clothing that is subtle as it is elegant and easy to interpret. Layering is a key theme, and is often rendered in unexpected ways: a shirt bottom attached to a vest; facing creating a layer on jacket’s collars and lapels. As ever, perfect imperfection is the keyword. With a well-deserved, and much-needed dash of romance”

Congratulations John on another great season and TEN great years! I hope to see some of the pieces in my closet soon!

Please Tell Me WHY Armani Made a Male Monokini?!

IF you read OJ&B then you know that I have addressed the swimsuit craze among many women that is the monokini. At first I thought they were the hottest messes this side of swimwear but now I am actually starting to dig them (I know I am scared too!)

It seems that men's designers keep taking what was hot for women in the previous season and turning it into the latest trends for men. Look at pants being tucked into boots, gladiator sandals, large bags, rolled up jeans, loose fitting MKO style clothing, summer scarves, skinny jeans, the list goes on and on. I have absolutely no problem with this. In fact I kinda want some mandals, but Mr. Armani you have gone TOO FAR with the MALE MONOKINI!!!

As I asked in the title of the post. Can someone tell me why Armani made a male monokini for his Spring/Summer 2011 collection which was shown this week in Milan? I mean it used to be OK to do crazy stuff for the runway because "hey that is the runway and no one will really wear that in real life right?" WRONG! Thanks to GAGA and others trying to be GAGA people wear everything they shouldn't and more. I know androgyny is the thing right now but this is just a plain NO. What is worse is you know some girl is totally going to wear one with or without something under it and belt it, throw on some heels and call it an outfit. That would be a hot high end mess!

To sum it up, I don't care who made it or how much it costs. Some things are fug and we need to start holding designers accountable for the nastiness!

Hudson Hall: Tray Chic!

On June 17, 2010 I got to experience one of the newest hot spots in the city during their chic tasting event! Hudson Hall, in the always fun and fab Hudson Hotel, is the brand new restaurant created Cordon Bleu graduate, Chef Brian Young. The menu at Hudson Hall highlights unique products and ingredients that are seasonal in nature and are provided by the regions most storied and sustainable farms.

Above: The amazing food that reminds you that this is NOT your typical mess hall!

I have to give huge props to Chef Brian Young and his crew for the amazing food at what feels like a lux Luby's with it's Harry Allan Designed red trays and food that you serve yourself. My favorite thing that I ate was the Hudson Slider which was made with dry aged and wagyu cabot clothbound chedder, neuske bacon, and a special sauce. If none of that means anything to you, just know that there was a party in my mouth and everyone was invited (well if you RSVP'd on time and were on the list). For dessert I had a slice of delicious poppyseed cheesecake with berries and whipped cream that was all kinds of tasty!

I love the vibe of Hudson Hall. The Hall is surrounded by beautiful screens that can project anything from vintage rock videos to the must see game. The long community style tables create the perfect atmosphere for meeting new people. Who knows, maybe you will meet your new Boo at Hudson Hall. It also has the vibe of an upscale college dinning hall or haute high school cafeteria. The staff sports edgy, collegiate-inspired uniforms featuring black and white stripes that make you want to show your school spirit for team Hudson. The night was complete with guests sipping college themed cocktails like lemon drops and woo-woos all served as shots, cocktails and pitchers.

Above: Guest get to serve themselves creating a custom meal. Who knows who you will meet reaching for the same plate of food. Below: The chic screens that create a great atmosphere.

The tasting event brought out the likes of socialite Jackie Astier, Fashion Director for Telegraph UK Daniela Agnelli, Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais and Ryan Brown and Irina Shayk. I also spotted publicist and Kell on Earth cast member Emily Bungert chatting it up and enjoying Hudson Hall.

To say I enjoyed Hudson Hall would be an understatement. I totally recommend going to Hudson Hall if you are looking for something fun and different in the city where you have a good chance of meeting new people.

Thanks Hudson Hall for giving us yet another reason to love the Hudson Hotel.

Cosmo Magazine, Kristen Bell and Marisa Miller Say "Practice Safe Sun!"

On Tuesday, June 8, 2010 Cosmopolitan Magazine partnered with the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) for a luncheon to celebrate Cosmo’s first annual Practice Safe Sun Awards.

Hosted by Good Morning America's JuJu Chang, Cosmo’s Practice Safe Sun Awards honored those that have done their part in raising skin cancer awareness including Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine Kate White, Publisher of Cosmopolitan Magazine Donna Kalajian Lagani, actress Kristen Bell, Mets third baseman David Wright, supermodel Marisa Miller and many more.

Everyone involved wanted to let people know that the dangers of tanning in the sun and in booths. They spoke about sunless options that get the job done without the danger.

Cosmo and the MRF are also raising money for Melanoma research. For just $10 you can donate to the cause and get an awareness bracelet to show your support.

Above: If you donate $10 or more you will receive this fun awareness bracelet.

There is nothing like giving to a good cause and getting a fun accessory. I am glad that they are getting the word out about this cause. So many people, especially women, think that it is necessary or O.K. to tan. It is the easiest way to age yourself and look like a hot leathery mess in the future.

Remember to use plenty of SPF. IT is actually on of my favorite thing to wear before I journey out into the city! Always remember to "practice safe sun!"

For more information on the Practice Safe Sun Awards and info on how to get the awareness bracelet click here!

I LOVE THIS SONG: Jungle Drum By Emiliana Torrini!

Last week or so I had a meeting in SoHo a.k.a one of my FAVORITE places in the city! The shopping there is to LIVE for and the people have the most amazing style on the streets! I seriously get inspired every time I go!

Before my meeting I spotted the Penguin which I am OBSESSED WITH. (If you read this Penguin get in touch with me! I LOVE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!) As I was falling in love with a purple leather wallet this amazingly catchy and fun song was playing. After I left the store I kept telling myself remember the lyrics so you can look it up. ALL I could remember was the duunega dunega dunega dune dune dune! I loved it.

I finally remembered to look it up and the name of the song is 'Jungle Drum' by Icelandic singer Emiliana Torrini. (Did you think I was going to say Bjork?) The video is uber cute too. Check it out and let me know what you think!

P.S. If you are a hipster then I promise you will LOVE it but pretend not to because you think it's lame to be excited about stuff.

Alex McCord, Patrick McMullan and Matthew Modine Celebrate Opening of Leica Boutique at Willoughby's Imaging Center

The Real Housewives of New York City's Alex McCord, legendary event and celebrity photographer Patrick McMullan and actor Matthew Modine hosted a private “cocktails and cameras” party on June 8, 2010 to celebrate the opening of the Leica Boutique at the Willoughby’s Imaging Center located at 298 Fifth Avenue.

The event was literally packed wall to wall with guest such as Geoffrey Bradfield, Ann Caruso, Coralie Charriol, Robert Farrior, Miguelina Gambaccini, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Gemma Kahng, Fern Mallis, B. Michael, Cari Modine, Maggie Rizer, Emma Snowdon Jones, Simon van Kempen and Derek Warburton, Lauren Rich and Jonathan Valdez. Everyone sipped on specialty cocktails and enjoyed the tunes of DJ Bruce Marshall as they were surrounded by an exhibit by filmmaker slash fashion photographer slash Leica Camera fan, Nevil Dwek, who shot the photographs for the July issue of Elle Brazil with a Leica S2 Camera.

The evening also included a live auction of a photograph from Dwek that was hand picked by the crowd (including me as I somehow ended up at the front that was originally the back lol). Proceeds were donated to Matthew Modine’s non-profit organization, Bicycle for a Day, which strives to empower individuals to take steps in their everyday lives that benefit the environment. There were so many people at the event that Alex (who wore a colorful Rolando Santana dress) and publicist Susan Shin had to hold up that photograph and part the crowd during the auction so the people in the back could see and bid.

Above: Alex McCord and Susan Shin walk through the crowd to give everyone a chance to see and bid on a photograph by Nevil Dwek.

I tweeted from the event that being surrounded by all of the amazing Leica cameras made me want a profesh camera really bad! Someone quickly tweeted back that they would kill for a Leica camera. I would never kill anyone for a camera but I might break dance fight someone for some more of the delicious cookies that they had at the event.

Above: Yummy Leica cookies among the other delicious food at the event.

Congrats to Leica on a great event and on the new location! Now who wants to audition to be in my break dance fighting crew?

Ferris Bueller's Night Out!

On Saturday, June 5, 2010 I had the chance to see the Broadway play God of Carnage before it closed on Sunday, June 6th. The play starred Lucy Liu, Jeff Daniels, Janet Mcteer and Dylan Baker. I have to say that the show was such an amazing piece of theatre! Liu was stunning in person and was brilliant in her role as Annette. Jeff Daniels and Dylan Baker did a wonderful job as well but I have to say that the best performance of the show was Janet McTeer's Veronica. McTeer has such an incredible stage presence and voice and she is easily one of the best actresses that I have ever seen on stage! She had complete control over her character and had amazing moments.

I was not alone in watching the show. In the audience with me that night was the awesome screen and Broadway actor Matthew Broderick. I was really excited to see him at the show because he is all kinds of awesome and his wife is the lovely SJP. They are easily one of my favorite celebrity couples.

Other people in the audience of note were Broadway actress Cherry Jones and actor Eric Bogosian.

There is truly NOTHING like a night out at the theater in lovely New York City!

P.S. Congrats to the cast of crew of God Of Carnage on their successful Broadway run!

Wear Your Fave Blogger: Danny Roberts Creates Tees With Blogger Portraits For Forever 21

It has been said that bloggers are the new celebrity. Love them or hate them, bloggers are popping up at the hottest parties, fashion shows, events, concerts and more!

Recently California artist Danny Roberts created a line of t-shirts for Forever 21 with portaits of bloggers that he loves. Roberts wanted to thank the bloggers that he reads and appreciates. I have to say that making a t-shirt that is going to be sold at a very popular retailer is the perfect way to say thanks!

The bloggers featured in the t-shirts are the ones responsible for Pandora, Fashion Squad, Style Bytes, Alice Point and OJ&B... (HAHA OK NOT OJ&B but I wanted to PRETEND!) I give HUGE props to all of the bloggers who are involved with this project!

I would be so honored to be a part of something like this in any capacity. I am blown away everyday by the support of all of my readers. Thank you so much for all of the support!

What do you think of the tees? Would you wear an OJ&B t-shirt? Leave a comment and let me know.

My 5 Recent Obsessions!

I have always had a strong love for photography! I totally agree with whoever said, "You do not find photos, the photos find you!" I also love how photos capture a moment and tell a story that will never happen that exact same way ever again! Even though I love taking pictures and photography I have never purchased a really nice camera.

My BlackBerry is filled with tons of pictures that I take on my many adventure in the city and I thought it might be cool to share some of my recent obsessions that I have captured via camera phone.

#1 CENTRAL PARK

I don't care what anyone says, Central Park is so magical to me. There is just a certain vibe about it. I always think of the times when people would stroll through the parks in their fancy clothes and huge hats all dapper and dandy.

#2 Cappuccinos

I started really liking coffee in 2007 when I studied abroad in Costa Rica. Costa Rican coffee is beyond amazing! I made a new friend in the city who recently shared with me the joys of a properly made cappuccino. My friend's thing is going to small cafe's in the city with tons of character and I love going along and experiencing them. The rules are no cell phones! Just conversation and atmosphere like they used to do back in the day.

#3 Over The Top Accessories

Can we talk about how good this bird ring I bought last week is? It is my new favorite! I am all about really fun crazy accessories right now. My friend Krissy always told me, "Life is to short not to wear birds in your hair!"

#4 Dress Shoes, No Socks

This look made its appearance last spring summer and has really taken off. I was not to fond of it at first but I really like it now. Hint: I actually am wearing socks. H&M makes really good ones especially for this look.

#5 Fun Shoes

I love that fashion is finally having fun with men's shoes as well. There are so many awesome shoes out there for guys right now and I kinda need slash want them all.

There you have it. 5 things that are my recent obsessions. What are you obsessed with right now?

Vince Men's Fall 2010: Clothes I Can Actually Wear!

I love covering fashion on OJ&B, but often times I am covering women's fashion. I love it when I get the chance to check out amazing men's lines and look at clothes that I can actually wear like the Vince Men's Fall 2010 collection!

Vince is PERFECT for those basic pieces of clothing that we all need and love like tees, sweaters, jeans, pants, and jackets. The great thing about Vince is that they take these basic pieces and take them to another level.

Above: V neck tees and long sleeve shirts like these should be a staple in any man's wardrobe. You can use them to layer and/or wear with or without jackets and scarves or by themselves.

Vince also has great sweat pants that would be perfect for working out in or running out to do some quick errands on the weekends.

Above: Who says you have to look frumpy at the gym? The pocket detailing take these sweats to the next level so you can look sporty and stylish at the same time.

I am OBSESSED with Vince's sweaters and jackets. They are so clean and classic.

Above: Once again guys, you do not have to sacrifice style for comfort. This sweater would be perfect for a casual fall Friday situation at the office with a nice dress shirt under it.

Above: I need slash want this grampy sweater to be a staple in my Fall/Winter 2010 wardrobe! It can work in so many different ways!

Vince also does amazing leather jackets. A lot of the leather jackets at Vince are light weight and not bulky which I love.

Above: Another thing I need slash want for Fall/Winter '10 is a great leather jacket situation!

From simple tees to great leather jackets, Vince is a great place to get those pieces that you can use to create different looks. Vince is also a great place for ladies to go if they are trying to help their man take it to another level but not go over the top.

Thanks to Vince for showing me the Men's Fall 2010 look. I can for sure see some of it in my future.
