Zac Efron Stops By Austin, TX to Say Hello With Me And Orson Welles

Zac Efron is in Austin, Texas tonight along with director Rick Linklater, and costar Christian McKay for a screening of their new Movie Me and Orson Welles. The screening was held at the beautiful Paramount Theatre complete with red carpet, media coverage, and of course a sidewalk swarming with Zefron fans of all ages.

Above: Fans eagerly await Zac Efron's red carpet arrival. Photo courtesy of Gordonandthewhale.com.

I wonder if Zefron is going to hit up 6th street after? That would be pure craziness. Can't you see hundreds of drunk girls jumping out of the open club windows, taking off their heels they can barley walk in, and running after Zac?

I am sure he would hit up the classier warehouse district for some after party action. If I ran into him at a club in ATX I would have no choice but to have a dance off with him as the DJ plays "We're All In This Together." That would be epic!

Please feel free to report all Zefron sightings in the comments section!

Hey Heidi and Spencer! Thanks for the Follow!

This past weekend was a very long and relaxing one! I got to give thanks, spend time with my family, and Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of The Hills started following me on Twitter.

Now I know that a lot of celebs on twitter have a team of people who tweet for them and may randomly pick a bunch of people to follow, but I choose to believe that they are following me on Twitter for a reason.

Here is how it happened: Heidi was relaxing in her L.A. home surfing through blogs when she stumbled across OJ&B. She loved it so much that she decided to follow me and told Spencer. He loved it so much too that he decided to follow as well. (Or Heidi made him.) HEY IT COULD HAPPEN! If not, Speidi should TOTALLY read OJ&B, don't you think?! I would be down for an exclusive OJ&B interview with The Pratts! Just Saying!

MTV's "Jersey Shore": Fist Pumping Like Champs!

MTV's brand new Real Worldesque show, Jersey Shore is getting all tanned, juiced up, and hair poofed for it's December 3rd debut! (Hey, I am just using words from the trailer of the show from MTV!) MTV is touting this show as having the hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos and Guidettes. The Trailer for Jersey Shore has Ronnie, Vinnie, Jenni, Sammy, Mike, Nicole, and of course Paulie, talking about things like hair, tans, juiced muscles, fist pumping like champs, and who started the "hair poof." My favorite line is at the end where one of the guys says, "If hating is your occupation, I probably got a full time job for you!" Story of my life! Also the MTV announcer says, "Get ready or a whole new Crazy." OH I AM READY! Actually I have been ready since True Life: I'm a Jersey Shore Girl aired around 2004 with that girl Dottie! (She looked like Jessica Simpson, I don't care what anyone says!)

Some people are offended by Jersey Shore, saying that it is based on negative stereotypes and bad behavior. MTV recently responded to the offended groups by saying this to Entertainment Weekly:

“Jersey Shore is a reality series that follows eight young adults spending their summer at the beach. The show continues MTV’s history of documenting various subcultures, rites of passage of young people, and the ways they self-identify. The Italian-American cast takes pride in their ethnicity. We understand that this show is not intended for every audience and depicts just one aspect of youth culture.”

OH MTV! You love to bring the drama no matter where you go! I am sure when people started protesting they had a small party to celebrate the media attention. I hope that young people realize that people on T.V. shows like Jersey Shore can only represent themselves. You cannot marginalize an entire group of people based on seven hot messes picked to live in a house or on the shore. When and if I watch Jersey Shore , I will be watching and laughing at the individual people on the show, not at an entire area of a state or group of people.

I leave you with the trailer from MTV's Jersey Shore. Take look and please let me know what you think!

Gaga Before Gaga: A Thanksgiving Treat!

I am thankful for friends, family, fun times, freedom, Orange Juice and Biscuits, and my pop stars! Especially when I stumble upon some great videos of them trying to make it before they made it! Because tomorrow is Thanksgiving in America, I thought I would give my OJBers a little treat! Yes my friends, that is Stefani "Lady Gaga" Germanotta in the picture above back in 2006 when she was "The Stefani Germanotta Band." Now don't get it twisted! I am not hating on Gaga in any way! I just love seeing people before they became stars. You can for sure see glimmers of the Gaga we all love and know today. The video shows Gaga playing a song called Hollywood at The Bitter End.

I also found a second video of Gaga performing solo as Stefani Germanotta at New York University. You have to excuse the corny Emcee and the judges saying "Nora Jones look out!" That should tell you how long ago that performance happened. I still think she rocked it! Tell me if you think the first song she plays, Captivated, sounds like the New York song she sang on Saturday Night Live. She also goes into faster song called Electric Kiss. VERY SNL PERFORMANCE! (Minus the huge metal orbit thing.)

So enjoy the videos, leave lots of comments, and please feel free to discuss slash play these videos at the Thanksgiving dinner table with all of your loved ones! Also, tell them about that really cool blog with the food name, Orange Juice and Biscuits!

LOVE YOU GUYS! Have a WONDERFUL AND HAPPY TURKEY DAY! So glad that the Pilgrims and Indians decided to have a PARTY IN THE USA!!!

Spotted : OJ&B In The Press!

I was very excited to see that I had landed in the pages of the November Issue of Encore Magazine with the lovely Penelope Cruz on the cover. The pictures were from Encore Mag's Fall Season Launch Party that I attended while I was in NYC at the DJT Fine Art Gallery in Chelsea. I was very proud of Orange Juice and Biscuits' first recognition in a NY mag for a NY event! Here is what the caption read:

Get it Orange Juice and Biscuits! I feel like a NYC Social. Special thanks to my friend, Emily Wade, for attending the party with me! Here's to many more fab events and press to come!

"Precious" Moments

Last Sunday I finally had the chance to see the movie Precious based on the novel Push by Sapphire. People who had only seen the previews and interviews with the actors were telling me that I needed to bring tissues because they heard it was sad. I told them that I would be alright and I went off to see the movie that I had been anxious to see for quite sometime.

The best way that I can describe the movie Precious is that it is a cinematic experience. Director Lee Daniels does a phenomenal job at taking and capturing moments on screen and making them explode with emotion. Mo'Nique does an outstanding job of playing Precious Jones' mother Mary. She makes her character have so many layers of experiences, emotion, and perhaps metal illness that it is just breathtaking to experience. Watching her performances left me stunned and I have to say I see an Oscar or at the very least a Golden Globe in her future!

Gabourey Sidibe, who plays the role of Precious, received the role by walking into an open casting call. We learned when Sidibe was on Oprah that as soon as she walked out of the casting, Director Lee Daniels said "That's Precious." What a great story! I felt that Sidibe was great for this role. She brought such a realness to the part that I don't feel would have been matched by someone who had been acting for quite some time.

Now for Mariah Carey! There was such a big buzz about Mariah's role as social worker Miss Weiss. Some people could not believe that critics were gushing about how great she was. Well I am here to gush as well and to tell you that Carey did an exceptional job in her roll as Miss Weiss. She also did such a great job of keeping everything feeling real and a bit gritty. The movie itself is not glamorous at all, with the exception of some dream sequences by the main character, Precious. It seems that the entire cast was dedicated to keeping that "real" feel as none of them looked red carpet ready in the slightest. Mariah was not the only singer in this film. Rocker Lenny Kravitz was also in the film as Nurse John. I was surprised to see him because I had not heard any buzz about him being in the film, although he did a great job.

One of my favorite scenes had to have been a classroom scene where students where introducing themselves. Actress Xosha Roquemore did such a great job as classmate Joann. She was 80's "I wanna be in the music industry" glam in a nutshell. The students where asked to say a bit about themselves, including there favorite color. Joann lets out a huge, "HAAAAY! My Name is Joann and my favorite color is Florescent Beige!" I DIED laughing. Needless to say, Florescent Beige is now my favorite color as well! Thanks Xosha slash Joann!

In conclusion, if you have any doubts about seeing Precious, get you life together and go see Precious! That way when award season comes and all you hear is Precious, Precious, Precious, you will know why!

Check out the movie trailer for Precious!

On Friday, October 30, 2009 my former Co host, Amanda Dugan, and I attended the Collegiate Broadcasters Incorporated (CBI) Awards in Austin, TX. The awards were part of the annual national CBI convention that is held every year in a different city. Orange Juice and Biscuits had the honor of being named as one of the Top 4 Best Regularly Scheduled Programs in the nation as well as the Top 4 Best DJ's in the nation according to Collegiate Broadcasters Inc.

We truly feel honored to have received this national recognition from a great organization like CBI. It felt great to represent Texas State University and KTSW 89.9!

This is OJ&B's second CBI nomination for Best Regularly Scheduled Program and its first for Best DJ. OJ&B also had the honor of being voted top 8 morning show on Austin360.com in 2008! I am very proud and excited about all of our hard work and honors! It means so much to me to be recognized for doing something that I love!

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners of the 2009 CBI awards. Best of luck to everyone in the future!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Hosts SNL! Such A Nice Guy!

Tonight's Saturday Night Live will be hosted by the talented Joseph Gordon-Levitt with musical guest Dave Matthews Band. JGL has had an extremely busy 2009 doing press for movies like G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra and my personal favorite (500) Days of Summer, as well as keeping up with his website hitRECord.org.

Earlier this year I had the chance to catch up with Joseph Gordon-Levitt at SXSW Film in Austin, TX to talk about (500) Days of Summer. He was one of the nicest people that I have had the chance to interview. Joining him on the (500) Days press tour was the lovely Zooey Deschanel and the director of the film, Marc Webb. You can listen to the interviews here.

Above: Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Valdez

Other than (500) Days of Summer, my favorite JGL movie has to be 1999's 10 Things I Hate About You. I can still quote almost every line! JGL was also in a really great comedic film this year called Women In Trouble, which I got to speak with him about as well st SXSW FILM. It is a great movie about ten women who have only one thing in common, Trouble!

I cannot wait to see what JGL bring to the table on tonight's SNL! I'm sure it will be hilarious!

Christina Ricci Does Project With Donna Karan!

Yesterday Donna Karan New York's PR girl was tweeting it up about a film that was being shot for DK with Christina Ricci. The director of this project is none other than the son of Sting, Jake Sumner, and the producer is People's Revolution owner, Kelly Cutrone. This all makes for a pretty interesting bunch! I asked DKNY's PR girl via Twitter if she could give me more info and she said that she could not tell much, just that CR was the star and that Jake is directing and K Cutrone is producing. Sounds like something that could be pretty cool! I also asked DKNY's PR girl via Twitter how Christina was in person and she replied, "She is a total sweetheart. Truly a doll." That is good to know! I really love it when celebrities are nice! BTW, this is another reason why I love Twitter. Where else can you chat with a PR person from a big fashion label while they are on the set of a cool project? Hopefully we will all get to see what is going on soon!

The Oprah Winfrey Show To End in 2011

In a press release sent out early Thursday evening, Tim Bennett, the president of Harpo, Inc., Oprah's production company, has announced the show will go off the air.

"Tomorrow [Friday], Oprah will announce live on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs in television history. The sun will set on the "Oprah" show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011."

OH NO! The Oprah Show has literally been on for as long as I have been alive! It is going to be so sad to see her leave. I have not had the chance to be on her show but I still have one more year and a couple of months to do so! You know Oprah is all about that dream and wish fulfillment! One thing is for sure, you know Oprah is going to go out with a HUGE bang. I really see 2011 being the year of Oprah. She should call it Oprah's Blowout Extravaganza Jubilee! Looks like I need to start pitching Orange Juice and Biscuits The Talk Show!

Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus Hates Twilight SAY WHAT?!

Miley "Destiny Hope" Cyrus (I vow to never let people forget what her name original was!)seemed to shock a lot of people by publicly saying that she does not like the Twilight series or anything that deals with Twilight. In an interview with radio station Q92, interviewer Nikolina asks the Party In The USAer if she is Team Edward or Team Jacob, referring to two of the main male characters in the Twilight series. Destiny Hope then says, “I’ve never seen it, and nor will I ever. I don’t believe in it. I don’t believe in it. I don’t like vampires, I don’t like any of the stuff, I don't like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I’m watching my TV at night. I don’t like it, I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t like the shirts, any of it.” Whoa now HANNAH! Don't old back now. Tell us how you REALLY feel!

I can't really hate too much on Miley because I also do not want anything to do with Twilight, but dang Miley! As a fellow "actor" (that hurt to type) in the spotlight, you should be a little more classy about other people's projects. I guess she is mad because there is not a pole for her to dance on in the movie, or maybe she secretly wanted to date Taylor Lautner and he rejected her for Tay Swift? It is so much fun guessing things that might have caused her to be a bit bitter. OOOO! Maybe she wanted to audition for Dakota's part and the casting directors would not even see her read! WHO KNOWS! Maybe she really just doesn't care for it... Nah, that is not as much fun as coming up with scenarios. Either way, it was a smart thing to say because it keeps her in the media. Watch the clip and tell me what you think! Don't worry, all of the good stuff is at the beginning!

Spotted: Gleemour in L.A.!

Earlier today my L.A. insider (My Friend Stephanie Harvey who is visiting right now) tweeted me and told me that she was watching the beautiful Jayma Mays of Glee do a photo shoot for what appeared to be a Louis Vuitton ad. Mays, who plays the wonderfully quirky Emma Pillsbury in the FOX hit Glee, was seen in front of the L.V. store in the Hollywood Highland Center with shopping bags during the shoot.

I think that it would be really awesome to have Jayma Mays as a spokesperson. She is gorgeous and she is my current celebrity crush. Actually, I guess I am in love with Emma Pillsbury, but I am sure that Jayma is just as charming in person. I was really excited when they finally let Emma sing. I had been waiting for it to happen all season long. This weeks glee looks amazing as always! Mr. Shu is going to address how he feels about Emma and Rachel having feeling for him through song, which is how I usually try to express my feelings as well. I know that I am a huge Gleek because I never like to read the articles about Glee for fear they will give some of the plot away. Also, I don't like knowing what songs they are going to sing. I just always enjoy shows more when I don't know what is going to happen! (This is only if I really really like a show though!)

So to get back to my original story, be on the look out for Jayma Mays and Louis Vuitton. Then when you see the ads or photo shoot you can say that you heard about it a long time ago on The Orange Juice and Biscuits blog!

*Special thanks to my L.A. insider Stephanie Harvey for the tip. I encourage everyone to send me any and all celeb sightings no matter where you are! My email is jonrvaldez@gmail.com. Also, if you want to know what I think about a certain topic or story in entertainment news just let me know! The Fergie/Josh/Stripper post was done by request! Thanks OJ&B readers!

Carrie Prejean Get Your Life Together!

Every time I see Carrie Prejean on Television I get the same look on my face that Miss North Carolina has in the picture. It's a "I cannot believe this is happening" sort of look that also suggests tears are about to happen. Why does this woman insist on going on these talk shows knowing that no on cares about her little book that she "wrote." All they want to talk about is some good old fashion scandal. Sure she is all smiles when she holds up her book, but as soon as someone gets to the juicy stuff (the only reason she is on TV or has a book)she gets all pissy. Seriously, what was the Larry King sitch all about? You looked 10 shades of crazy telling King that he was being inappropriate and saying that you would leave the show. GIRL STOP! The day you walk away from a camera is the day hell freezes over and/or Lohan wins an Academy Award. Then I heard that another reason she got upset was because she was told she would not have to talk to callers. Has she ever watched Larry King? She needs to stop pulling a K Stew and be glad that anyone even wants to talk to her freaky self. But the icing on the cake has to be when Carrie said this in an interview. "No, I don't think there's anything wrong with getting breast implants as a Christian. I think it's a personal decision. I don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn't get breast implants." Can you really pull the B card on an issue like breast implants? I think you need to stay away from all the interviews and just take some time to reflect on how you can get your life together. That or you can continue to pull things out of your bag of crazy to stay in the media a little longer. It's your call Care!

BIT.. I mean, Stripper PLEASE! Leave Fergie & Josh Alone!

It is no secret that I loves me some FERGIE FERG! She provides me with killer pop hits that make me happy and I honestly think that she is beautiful! That being said, she deserves all of the happiness in the world, so STRIPPER LEAVE HER AND JOSH BE! Now I know that you have heard all about this woman who strips (I refuse to say her name or say where she works because I don't want to give her more publicty) going around saying that she shacked up with Fergie's husband Josh Duhamel. One of my reader's asked for my view on this whole stripper sitch, so hear it goes!

I really hope that this is not true! First of all Strips, can I call ya Strips? OK, so first of all Strips goes on Entertainment Tonight and says that she had no idea who Josh was and that her and her friend had to look him up online. She also told a magazine that she knew who he was the next day. GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT! Then the hot mess said on ET that she didn't care who he was. She said he was hot and that's all that mattered. DON'T ACT LIKE THAT! I am sorry but she is giving strippers a bad name and Imma need you to respect my pop star's vows lady! Then ET said that she passed the lie detector test. Now listen, I don't want to offend any strippers out there, but I have a feeling that some are probably pretty good at lying. You know they have to lie to some people about things like there profession or their dignity, so I know homegirl could probably lie about doing a celeb.

All I am saying is that this country sounding stripper needs to get her life together! Also if you have any kind of celebrity please stay away from any and all strip clubs! They get naked for money, do you really think that they aren't going to tell on you if something goes down? Once again, sorry if I offended any stippers, er, uh I mean, "exotic dancers." The last thing I want slash need is to be attacked with a portable Flirty Girl Fitness poll or a light up, clear, stripper shoe. That would not be the hotness! In conclusion, we love ya Ferg and we hope the allegations are not true!

New Lada Gaga Video! Bad Romance, Baller Shoes!

Lady Gaga premiered her latest music video for her song Bad Romance on her website today and OH MY GAGA, it is cray cray! One of the first things that caught my eye was a cameo by a Mr. Bigglesworth style cat. It was for sure an Austin Powers moment. (Another retro spy moment was at the end when Gaga seemed to be sporting what Austin Powers referred to as "machine gun jubblies.") The second thing that caught my eye was of course the crazy cool shoes slash clothes that Gaga wore. Normally I would have just said, "Oh those are cool kicks LG," but I immediately knew that they were the shoes/clothes from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 collection.

Why this is important? Because I was right! When McQueen showed these shoes in October at Paris fashion week I tweeted that the shoes were so Gaga! I knew that Lady Gaga would get a hold of them and she did (with a quickness). I am just happy that my fashion prediction came true! Maybe I should become a stylist. YES? NO? If you want to check out Gaga's new Video for Bad Romance to see the Bigglescat, the shoes, or Gaga then look no further! I have saved you the agony of opening up another tab or window and hunting for it online. No need to thank me :)

P.S. I am loving the Gaga dino dancing that happens in the video. Maybe the new Single Ladies dance? I mean the leotards are there...

That Song In The New Victoria's Secret Commercial!

HELLO BOMBSHELL! If you are like me, then you are loving the song that is on the Victoria's Secret commercial for their new Miraculous Push-Up Bra that claims to instantly add two cup sizes. Why am I a sucker for the Vicki Secrets commercials? Well first, the commerical starts out with a breathy woman saying "Hello, Bombshell!," which is what I tell myself every morning when I look in the mirror. Second, the models in the video fiercely bust out of doors to strut their stuff in a huge mansion. Third, the song they use is so freakin' CATCHY!! Check it out:

The song is by the Parisian electro act Make The Girl Dance and is called 'Baby Baby Baby'. It is actually the first single for the group and seeing as though it is on the VS commercials, I think it will do pretty well. I really really love french pop music. It just sound so darn cool and I feel ultra swanky when I listen to it.

Oh yea! If you thought the VS commercial was hot, then wait till you see Make The Girl Dance's video. It is creating quite the stir online as it features three women walking in the nude down the trendy Parisian street, La Rue Montorgueil, in broad daylight. They also have a toy like radio that they are jamming out to. I have to thank my friend's Mairin Heard and Shawn Dullye. The reason I knew what this song was when I heard it on T.V. and jumped up and said "HEY I KNOW THAT SONG," is because I heard it on their radio show The Party Line! Now if you want to jam out to a cool song and watch the video, HERE IT IS! A baller song AND TWO CUP SIZES INSTANTLY?!? SCORE!

SHUT THE F UP K STEW!

O M G! If I hear Kristen Stewart cry about how she hates being famous one more time! Really K Stew? Who are you kidding? Everyone knows that the best way to stay famous is to be famous and bitch about how you hate it so much.

Recently the hot mess of an actress (can someone get that poor girl a new stylist ASAP?) told the British magazine Fabulous, "I don't want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie," she told the mag "Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I'm an actor. It's bizarre to me that every body's so obsessive."

How about you be grateful that you were LUCKY enough to snag the role in Twilight and appreciate that people even care about you. Trust me, the Twilight frenzy will end. Maybe not today or next year or in 8 years, but when the saga ends and it is over, people may not care about you. Then I guess you will get your wish!

K Stew then told Fabulous, "Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame," she explained, "As a vampire, he has a sad, desolate life — fame is the same." Emo much? Listen if the fame is so sad and desolate STOP DOING MOVIES! Also if you say that you are just an actress that only cares about the craft, go do some regional theatre somewhere and leave Hollywood! Oh, what's that Kristen? You love the money to much and we don't hear you bitching when you cash the check? Thought so! You didn't look so sad when you were waving to the papz in that pic or when you go to those movie premieres and awards shows. I mean you drop stuff and look a mess... but you don't look sad. Am I wrong?

It just seems like she is doing everything necessary to secure her fame. It's not like she is a struggling person who HAS to act to pay her rent or bills. I really should not give her any more attention. We should all ignore her so she can get what she wants and another actress who appreciates that she is liked can get the rolls! JUST SAYING!
